While these are both Elkay filtered and refrigerated water coolers with bottle filling stations, the "k" version is the original design from about 10 years ago. The "p" version has numerous enhancements such as 1. ships in one box all put together for simpler installation. 2. easier water filter changes with automatic status light reset. 3. LED light over the bottle filler so that you can see the water filling on opaque water bottles. 4. programmable thermostat so that you can turn off the cooling system at times of day when nobody is there, this should save energy and protect against climate change.
