Korg - KP3PLUS - Kaoss Pad Dynamic Effects/Sampler

Easy to use straight out of the box, sounds good and is great fun. A couple of weeks to find favourite settings and load up some samples and it sounds even better and is still great fun.

everything about the Kaos pad 3 is quality. It does so much for the price its incredible. I only bought it to make loops but its so much more than that. the fx it can process are amazing.

This is a piece of music production magic. Take a sample, I've used samples of a helicopter and a goods train recorded using a Tascam dr07. Using the resample function to include KP3 effects has given some great results. As an effects unit. Used the vocoder in preference to my Novation Mininova vocoder. Also used it in combination with my Korg Volca Keys. If you spend the time playing around, it may not make everything a masterpiece but just maybe it may produce your magnus opus. I do have a modesty equipped home recording studio and use some rack mounted effects units. The Kp3+ can produce limited musical compositions as a stand alone unit (I don't own one but I believe that's the job of a Kaossilator) but used in conjunction with synths or plug in a microphone, plug in anything modify it and you may be amazed. Seems it was made for DJ's but if you do your own composing, with imagination you may just learn to fly. It took me three months to get to grips with it and I have so much to learn, you'll be only limited by your own imagination

delivery was quick, great, appearance is practically spotless, but it does not power on. seems like power button is broken. incredibly disappointed, didn't buy this, just to buy parts to fix it.

As someone new to this, I've not used it enough to give an 'expert' review, so I'll keep it short.What it comes with (new): The unit, a power supply, and a fairly basic user manual. Also a little touchpad cover thingie. - It does NOT come with any software. You can download it from Korg on their website. You'll be looking for a USB-MIDI driver and their sound editor. -It does NOT come with a memory card. You can use either a vanilla SD or an SDHC card. You can use up to a 32gb SDHC card (which you can probably get ~$10 as of this review). -It does NOT come with any cables or adapters.There are a LOT of things you can do with it and as a first time user you might get a little lost in all the selections. The user manual is strictly a 'use this control for this or that' kind of manual, but it does give a program list in the back.Youtube will become your friend if you're looking to get the most out of this as there are a LOT of tutorial videos out there.If you've NEVER used this before (like me), when you first go to try it out, don't get worried if you don't hear anything or everything is at a REAL low volume. There are 3-4 things you should check initially: 1)The input volume, 2) The fader, 3) The headphone volume, 4)The trim knob for microphones. In my case, it was the fader set all the way to the bottom.Overall, this sampler seems to be awesome and it'll just take some time on my part to learn about all the little details.

Ich habe mir dieses Effektgerät für einen Liveauftritt besorgt um ab und zu ein paar Effekte live einzuspielen. Die Bedienung ist recht leicht.Samples kann man mit der KP3+ Editior Software leicht bearbeiten und dann auf SD Karte abspeichern.Die Ladezeiten bei einer großen Karte (ich benutze eine Lexar Professional 32 GB SDHC Karte) sind recht lange... also vor auftritt von verschiedenen banken hin und her laden wird nicht schnell funktionieren. Das dauert schon ein wenig.Super sind auch die Drumsounds die man einfach mal dazumischen kann. Die Effekte klingen alle hochwertig. Die Vinyleffekte sind klasse.Pumpende Reverbs gehen damit auch. Delay, Filter. Also alles was das (DJ) Herz begehrt. Man sollte sehr vorsichtig mit dem Display umgehen und sofort die Schutzfolie benutzen.
