Works better than I thought it would
I bought this without high expectations, but as long as you don't mind a shorter haircut, this product actually works well. A haircut takes about 10 minutes and this cuts evenly. A little messy when you're done compared to the vacuum type haircut machines but I'm glad I bought it.

Great for maintaining a short buzzcut
I bought mine about two months ago. It has saved me lots of moneyand drives to the Barbershop. Who enjoys sitting around waiting for a haircut? Not me. These clippers were designed for maintaining a short cut, mainly a buzzcut. If you have long hair, it will take longer to cut it all. Be sure to charge it as directed and oil before use and after cleaning. It just feels more natural using these cluppers than ordinary clippers. I have never experienced any hair pulling or nicks when using them. Go slow and take your time, you'll be fine. This is a update. These clippers are hard to use for cutting thehair around your ears. You need to use the tiny trimmers that are included. I have noticed that these clippers have a hard time cutting the top edges on my head. In all honesty, I would give these clippers a 9 out of 10. By using these clippers, I have saved quite a bit of money and time. These clippers were made for maintaining a short haircut like a buzzcut or shorter.

Poor engineering
Not well designed. It would work better if the turning part was more like a fan that would "pull" the hair into the cutter. I part my hair in the middle so I ended up with short hair on one side and longer hair on the other. I can do better with a comb and scissors, blind folded. The trimmer is good and works fine. I would not recommend this product.

One length only works best.
Bought this to give my husband haircuts during this COVID situation. Some things He likes about this unit but then there are some that He doesn’t.#1. Even with the longest setting the length is too short for my liking on the top of his head. And He is used to military haircuts all his life.#2. Wish you could easily do two different settings so that He can cut the side of his head shorter than the top. It may be user mistake but He can't get it to blend with the top of the head at a longer length. Some helpful educational videos from the maker would help teach us dummies doing our own haircuts.#3. and again it may be user mistake but some times it grabs a big chunk of hair and cuts it way too short giving you that "Covid Haircut" look. Patchy haircut look wasn't the look I was going for.#4. In it's defense it is comfortable to grip, easy to change settings once you figure out how, and good battery life. With a little more adjustments and improvements this could really be a true replacement to a barber when needed like during this pandemic.

I love it so far! 'Red' version is Lithium powered.
I've been doing a home buzz cut for the past few years with a regular trimmer, which was fine. I can trim my hair every week or two and keep it looking pretty sharp. Last week I got a bug to look for something to make it a little easier. It seems like I would end up spending 30 minutes or more chasing after little patches I had missed. It would be great to reduce that time...I found this 'Rotary Hair Clipper' on Amazon and thought to myself, this looks like it will take my ear off. Further investigation revealed it's not actually 'rotary' in that it spins the blade, but shifts one of the cutter blades back in forth like a standard clipper. Rotary only seems to refer to the circular blade. The reviews here on Amazon are mixed. Along with the typical 'didn't read the instructions' complaints, it seems like a lot of the complaints are from people wanting a longer hair cut which is not what this is engineered to do. Also, many complaints from people wanting a crew cut but have long hair and go barreling into cutting their full 3" or more head of hair, which I don't believe this device is engineered to handle.I'm thinking weekly maintenance trims. What the heck, I'll bite. It will pay for itself if the device can complete two or three cuts for me.I'm not saying this product is life changing, but I just trimmed up in about 10 minutes time which is pretty awesome. Front to back motions across the scalp to get most of the hair, and then large circles with it until you stop hearing it cut hair.I of course can't say anything about the long term quality of it right now. It appears to maybe be ABS plastic, so don't drop it. The very large circular blade will probably need to be lubricated more than a standard cutter. (in my experience, less is more most of the time)The little trimmer is comes with is mostly garbage, but works and will get you started if you need one. I did not buy the red version for the hand trimmer, only for the rotary cutter's Lithium battery option. The trimmer uses two AA batteries.

Works well, though there are several caviets to be aware of.
It works and works well. Will see how long it will last but first impression is a positive one.Now for caviets.1. First thing first, if I have to make a suggestion, I say use it in a bath tub or shower. Get a good hair catcher and use it in the enclosed shower. Otherwise a fine hair will be all over the place.2. This is not for hair longer than 3/4 inch max. If you let your hair grow longer than that , you need to use a regular clipper before this one. If you like me and want to keep a short cut this is a good option.

Does the job
This did exactly what I wanted it to. Cut my hair short. The directions said to start with short hair. I ignored that, you know since the "lockdown" and all that had my hair long and crazy. I charged it up, and ran it over my head. About 5 minutes later I was pretty much done. Needed a bit more time to even it out. It does have a bit of a hard time around the ears, but this set came with a separate trimmer so no big deal. It will cut short, so I would suggest using it on the longest hair setting first. It is easy to hold and has lithium batteries. I mention that, because they was an older model that had nimh batteries. A bit pricey, but considering a hair cut is about 20-25 bucks, it will pay for itself.
