An excellent and inexpensive way to make very good quality espresso
It's taken me 3 years to get round to writing this - it just slipped through the net. At least this review is based on long experience so I doubt that this Bialetti still holds any surprises. If you don't fancy investing in an electric espresso machine this Bialetti is definitely the next best thing. At the price you can't really go wrong.I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any means, I just enjoy a good espresso and an electric machine is undoubtedly a quick, effective, simple if expensive option. However, the Bialetti exudes charm and style. It is a very appealing piece of equipment. In terms of cleaning it is no more involved than cleaning the basket of an electric machine. The real difference is simply that you have to heat the water yourself but this takes mere moments.I endorse the comments of others: use hot but not boiling water; don't over fill it; use a Moka pot grind. Allow yourself no more than a quick, satisfying peek at the coffee erupting through the pipe before promptly closing the lid. Take it off the heat as soon as the coffee begins to flow. This simple device makes, for me, perfect espresso although it might just lack the depth and intensity of an espresso machine. But it's a close run thing in my judgement. The device is robust, well made and has already given three years of reliable service. In conclusion this is an excellent and inexpensive way to make very good quality espresso and there is virtually nothing here to go wrong - I guess one day the gasket will perish so you might as well buy a spare when you buy the pot.Highly recommended.

It does the job
Bought it for my Kona coffee 6 pot. A bit rare coffee pot. It is just a wee bit small. Taking about a millimeter. No big deal as it works..Arrived safely and earlier than stated.

Don’t waste money on cheap imitations
I bought these to replace a rubber seal that had worn out after many months of coffee making. The seals will easily last 6 months of regular use, so long as you look after, and clean them, well. Better still, you get three in the pack, so definitely value for money. It is important to know the size of your stovetop coffee pot before ordering; this is not a one size fits all product. Also, buyers who require frustration-free packaging should be aware that the product is delivered in hard plastic. I needed scissors to open the pack.I’ve tried the cheaper, unbranded alternatives in the past. My advice - spend the extra pound and buy the Bialetti. Currently retailing in the vicinity of £5, it’s little more than the price of a coffee on the high street, and worth every penny.

Ideal for restoring vintage moka pots
I have an unidentifiable genuine Bialetti "6" cup ( 1 MUG, I have a serious habit ... ) stainless moka pot, that is at least 15 years old. It doesn't match any of the 100s of online pictures that I've looked at. The RUBBER gasket originally fitted eventually deteriorated to the extent that the pressurized liquid was seeping out from the screw join, and wasn't retaining the perforated filter plate properly. Careful, workshop, measurement showed that I needed an outside diameter of 71 mm, and an ID of 56. Some sellers had these listed but unavailable. Some that had them were asking a huge price, and their descriptions were suspect.I bought this product because there were three gaskets, it came with a replacement filter plate, and was fractionally oversize. It was the correct material for a stainless pot, being rubber rather than silicone. Having three gaskets gave me the opportunity to "have another go" if my first attempt at trimming down the gasket to size didn't work. Having the correct filter plate for these gaskets meant that I could simply use that plate, and not have to modify the inner hole which would have been much harder. VERY careful trimming with sharp scissors (it took quite a time, and a steady hand) resulted in success on the first attempt, and I have two spares for the future. If you have an odd sized Moka pot that needs a new gasket, consider this option. It worked for me. Mugs of coffee again.
