I was looking for a second quick release plate so I could keep one on my camera and one of the tripod collar of a big lens I have. I was looking round for copies, but given how much my camera/lens cost, why scrimp on the only thing that holds it on the tripod and prevents it tumbling to the ground? This is OEM spec and is perfect for the job!

This Manfrotto quick release plate fits my 234RC head perfectly. The quality is excellent, just as it always has been with Manfrotto products. While it is a bit pricey, it is totally worth it because I have other pieces of Manfrotto equipment to form a set. Supporting the original brand is important to me. I had a few off-brand quick release plates that claimed to be compatible, but they were not.

Nice solid metal release plate by Manfrotto.Came in little plastic bag with an addtional clip to fit some camcorder makes and a bigger screw fitting.This fits corectly in my Manfrotto 190 pro4 tripod and the rubber top of the plate, holds the camera in place.This maybe a little more expensive than the 3rd party quick release plates, but it's worth paying a little more considering camera and lenses can cost thosands and the last you want is to have it fall off or break due to a cheaper made attachment.

OK, so if you lose your quick release plate what do you do? Buy the proper thing or a much cheaper version? In the end I bit the price bullet and bought the proper thing from Manfrotto. So glad I did, it fits like the old one (on a Manfrotto Compact Advanced tripod) and does up nicely on the camera.

Is what it is if I'm honest, without it your tripod it's useless! Relatively cheap for what they are and also given that you have no choice but to buy them. Sturdy, well made and more than capable of supporting heavy lenses if connected to the tripod collar, it will work directly to the camera, but it's never advisable to have so much forward weight on cameras lens coupling.

Manfrotto's RC2 quick release plate is easy to use, and I bought this because I have a long lens with its own mounting point, and also tend to carry other lenses also. So I have one RC2 to put on the long lens, and another to station permanently on the body of my camera.There's not really much more to say - Manfrotto stuff is awesome, and this is built to the usual high standards. It also comes with a 3/8" adaptor for wider mount holes, and also a VHS pin for mounting video cameras.I also got at the same time as this the BlackRapid FastenR-T1 to replace the wire D-Ring on the plate, in hopes of one day having a BlackRapid Sport strap to hook my camera to via this RC2 quick release plate, so these plates are really useful to have!Price wise, the plate was a little expensive for what it is, but it is going to last forever and only ADDS to my convenience.Awesome!
