Dear customer, Both cleaning solution and clean water would be OK. With Ultenic cleaning solution, the wet dry vac easily dissolves dirt, grime and tough sticky messes. With Deep Clean mode, the clean water will be electrolyzed for deep clean. We hope this answer helps.
