DO NOT BUY THIS AS A FIRE TV!
This TV's hardware is good; good picture quality, good brightness; the tuner is excellent (I recommend looking up The Antenna Man for antenna recommendations to suit your circumstances). The speakers are adequate if you are sitting right by it; I bought a soundbar because I usually watch from 10-12 feet away. I bought this intending to primarily use it as a computer monitor. For that, I quickly found that the resolution leaves text pixelated, not so badly that news articles are unreadable, but enough that it's sometimes inconvenient. But 4k sits directly in the "Uncanny Valley" so that the entire experience is extremely unpleasant (this is one of the reasons that Apple jumped past 4k to 5k for its desktop monitors, the other reason being to better edit 4k video)! For a 32-34" display for a working computer or gaming computer, it's long been known that QWHD (four times 720p) is optimal; but after many years, those are still US$300-600; and video isn't sized for it (easy enough; just play at 720 or 1080 in a window, if you're sitting at it -- but not so good as for "home entertainment" as a TV).Where this TV falls down is its SmartTV software. The Amazon Fire software is a source of steady frustration. Every single episode of every single show, I have to reset the audio to Stereo from Dolby. The Dolby signal causes the speakers to stutter so loudly and rapidly that I worry it's going to damage them -- my MOST RECENT hardware reset of this TV was because I thought it finally had, as there was a constant hum and stutter even after the audio setting was changed. But doing the hardware reset and NOT recovering former settings fixed that. Amazon's back-end Fire database is a major source of frustration, as it skips episodes and sometimes jumps seasons, and the only way to watch what you have missed is to go to a computer or Kindle and find where you left off. It jumped me through one season of Stargate SG-1 in four episodes! But, if you have this TV connected to a computer, then you can use the computer to play the show on this TV's screen, and only skip the episodes you mean to skip!Besides the Fire misfunctionality, I find the presence of only one HDMI ARC port -- that carries audio -- a significant shortcoming. I didn't know that "ARC" was a thing! Plug in HDMI cable, get sound! BUT NO, no, not so! My computer is connected via HDMI, and with only one ARC-enabled port, that means that if I plug my BluRay player into this TV, I'll have no sound!

Even Vudu...
My previous TV, a flat-screen gifted to me in 2011, already ready to go, died last week. All of my adult life I have made do with hand-me-down or used TVs/monitors.My dead TV was set up in my office so I could watch TV while working on the computer. I fed the TV with a laptop, via HDMI. I had previously poured a giant glass of ice-water on the laptop so the screen doesn't work very well, which made it perfect for feeding the TV.I have large VOD libraries on both Prime Video and Vudu, so when looking at the Smart TV options, access to Vudu is important to me. So I originally decided against this TV because it's an Amazon Fire TV, and my Fire Tablet, (that I use to watch TV/movies in bed), doesn't allow me to put Vudu on it.But when looking at all of the options, this one was the right size, and it does have HDMI inputs, so I could still feed it with my broken laptop, so it was the obvious choice, with the great sale price.I searched the apps and found that Vudu was an option. I also downloaded Peacock, Paramount+, Movies Anywhere, Tubi, Plex, Crackle, MSNBC, The CW, ABC, NBC, CBS, and YouTube. Signing into to each of them on my computer and using codes worked really well. So the only thing I had to actually type my password into using the remote was my Wifi. It all works great, and switching to the HDMI input is easy, if I ever want or need to do that. Like if I ever want to watch something I only have on DVD or Blu Ray.I will add Disney+, Hulu and Netflix when the WGA writer's strike is over and I resubscribe to them.I don't know if my previous TV was HD, but when I've visited my parents when they've played Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and other things in HD on their HD TV and it has all looked gross. The Battle of Helms Deep was a bunch of amorphous clay blobs, and the Death Star was a bunch of dudes in bad costumes hanging out. I don't know if that was the motion smoothing thing that Tom Cruise was mad about a few years back, Either way, I've seen none of that gross stuff.I've watch a little of the new Children of the Corn, several episodes of Stargate Atlantis, a little of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and Jurassic Park, and it all looks good. If I look closely I can see what I'm guessing is filmgrain, but the picture is clear.I recently watched an episode of Snoops (1999) that was uploaded to YouTube from probably VHS. There's a brief scene that features Dick Miller. I posted a screenshot to Twitter, but anyone who looked at that pic has to more or less take my word for it that it is indeed Dick Miller. But on this TV I could make guesses about the shade of lipstick worn by Teyla Emmagan, if I knew anything about lipstick. This is all to let you know my level of knowledge so you can judge how my level of happiness would measure up to your level of happiness. My only other observation in the few hours I've had this, is that the TV stands are at the outer edges of the TV. My previous TV had a big center stand, when meant I could perch it fairly near the edge of the table next to my desk, at a 45 degree angle (ish). So with the stands at the edges, I've had to push the TV farther back, and put sturdy things under the stands to give the TV better purchase on the table. Which is to say, you really need enough table under the entire TV to support it.I saw a review that said their TV didn't come with the screws for the stands. Mine did. They were in a separate small bad, the same way the remote batteries were in a separate bag.So far the TV seems absolutely great.

Very good TV. A must buy if you're looking.
I love this TV so much! It is a life saver too! I bought this thinking a nice small TV in my bedroom would keep my neighbor happy and let me watch movies way late into the night. I was right, the sound is so good and clear I don't have to turn it way up to hear the dialog and I can watch several movies before bedtime and it is just amazing. My neighbor(I live in an apartment) hasn't complained once or woke up that I can tell... I used to use a sound bar for its clarity but could still hear lower mids sounding a hint bassy and I know that transferred through the walls. But this makes no sounds of the sort when you turn on the voice enhancements and night mode! Score! The setup was tremendously easy, as only Alexa knows of course. Quality is great. During the day you turn off night mode and the sound is richer, fuller, etc. And with Dolby Atmos it is so cool sounding it just bounces off of the walls and yeah, just so cool. Size is right for a medium sized bedroom or small living room or small room period, dorm room maybe, but no fun in a dorm room I'd think. ;-)Value for money is perfect!! I bought this on sale and should have bought 6 of them. Lol Even normal selling price is hard to believe for a TV this good these days.I recommend this TV and brand.Thank you for reading,Erin V :-)
