Petromax Sandwich Pie Iron, Hinged Cast Iron for Campfire Cooking, Wooden Handles

You’re probably shopping for a pie iron and comparing this to all of the other options. In fact, you might even be balking at the price of this one compared to the others that are a fraction of the price. I also made the same comparisons and even looked at some in the store. I took the plunge and what I received was something far better in quality than the others; it’s worth the price. Not only is it larger and heavier/sturdier (read: it retains heat better) but the metal rods are actually bowed and maintain tension for the closing clasp to function. Others that I checked out were smaller and the clasp didn’t function so well or at all and the clasps were almost decorative. (Coghlan’s, I’m giving you the stink eye!) This one actually works to keep it shut. The handles are also much more ergonomic. In addition, this one also comes pre-seasoned unlike from Rome. The quality is indicative of its price. You’ll have this one for years to come.
