Love this product, ended up purchasing two more!
My husband and I recently added a Dachshund puppy to our family. We had owned a Dachshund prior to getting this one and knew what we were in for when it would come to housebreaking this particular breed. We embraced the fact that he would more than likely be going to a pad inside the house. If we could get him to do that, we'd be doing good. After much persistence and praise, we had finally made our Dachshund aware that the pad (assigned in three designated areas) is where he was to be going to eliminate. Although there always seemed to be little mistakes each time. Because he has such a long body, he would get his front paws on the pad, while the back portion of his body would be hanging off as he would be going on our floor. He would also cut it super close to the edge and would go, as the urine would seep onto our floor. So, that's when we decided to invest in this pad holder. We are so glad we made the investment. The pads that we buy (Natures Miracle) fit perfectly in this holder. Our pup had no trouble hopping right on the pad holder. He now goes right to the center of the pad, where he should have been going, to eliminate. The only thing I was a little disappointed about this product was the color of the holder itself. Not that it has to do with the great effectiveness of this product, but the pad holder pictured when we were looking to purchase is a cream and tan color. The one that we received is a dark grey and light grey color. We would have preferred the cream and tan but we are so pleased with the product that it over shines our dislike for the color we received. We ended up ordering two more of this pad holder. I highly recommend this product to anyone whos dog is an inside eliminator and needs a little extra guidance on where they should be eliminating in the home.

Dogit Square Training Pad Holder
Overall:In short, this Dogit pad holder works so well that we just purchased a second one for our other place. It fits the regular 22x23-in. Four Paws Wee-Wee Odor Control Pads almost perfectly.Size:We originally wanted the Iris Neat 'N' Dry pet pad holder regular size (18.9 x 25.55 x 1.75-in.), it's USA-made. The Iris model is rectangular with a more compact footprint but you lose pad space. This square Dogit model (23.5 x 23.5 x 1.7-in.) takes up more floor space but is better at maximizing the 22x23-in. pad space.Functionality:Similar to the Iris. Raised edges give our 7-lb. pup a good reference (with just the pad on the floor it was easier to miss) and keeps liquids on the pad. Locking frame holds the pad securely and also helps prevent him from tearing up the pad. You’ll need to train and supervise your pup especially the first few days that he uses it so he doesn't make a habit of playing with the pad and holder. Remember to change the pad after 3-4 uses or he'll refuse to use the pad if it's too soiled.Travel:We bring the Dogit pad holder when we travel. Slightly cumbersome but works much better than the silicone version. We looked at the silicone model for travel but it was too floppy (not great for keeping in liquids and pup was more likely to play with it) and the corner holders weren't secure.Handling + Aesthetics:Similar to the Iris. The Dogit holder top frame has 4 clasps (vs. 2 clasps on the Iris) that keep the pad secured to the base. The unit is well-made and should last with care. The plastic is smooth, easy to clean, with no sharp edges to hurt your pup. Neutral dove grey frame color over slate grey base shouldn't clash with most decor. Item is made in China.

Great pad holder....if....
I purchased this a while back, but didn't purchase the oversized pads recommended because one of the customer reviews said it wasn't necessary. That is true - unless you have a dog that is very busy and active. I was using it for two new puppies we had brought home. One puppy used it and left it alone. Yay!!! Problem solved. My other puppy would use it to potty, but also dig and scratch and generally rip it to shreds, even with the pad secured into the holder. So, the holder is actually wonderful to hold one of those airy little lightweight pads in place, if you have a docile puppy. But if you have an active digger or chewer, I don't think it will matter whether you use the smaller size or the oversized pads, because this frame is lightweight plastic and the tabs which "click" into place, secure the pad loosely. So, with little effort, even a pup less than five pounds can make havoc out of the potty training pads. Since it was not working for my active pup, I bit the bullet and purchased a good outdoor 5'x10' covered kennel, where my rough and tumble five pound puppy spends her days and my docile 8 lb Coton de Tulear stays in the house and uses her puppy pads. The goal is to eliminate the need for them, but while they are needed, I do prefer this method of offering the potty training pads. It keeps the pad in place and what little moisture seeks through the pad is contained on the frame, instead of on my floors.
