You can actually do without this. You can cut out a template on stock board and make your own make-shift guide however, if you have some money to spend and you just can't be bothered, this works great. The transparent guides really does help line up the VTA easily and visually.Comes with a handy little pocket to prevent the block from scratches.Very pricey piece of plastic IMO.

I was excited about having a catridge alignment tool that was not paper based and I had lost the original one that came with my turntable that was cardboard. I struggled to get it on the metal rod at the center. When I was struggling to take it off the rod, it broke. I am disappointed.

Don't over look this part of your cart set up. Just get one! It is way better than printing one on paper and having the paper flex. Thought it was bigger, but glad it is not.

I cannot recommend this product as it broke after a couple of times of placing it on my spindle. I gave it a two as opposed to a one because when it was in one piece it was fine.

I wanted this tool for a tonearm I was working on. So I paid the asking price and got it fast. They go as low as $6.00opposed to $20.00 I paid.
