this is a professional spotting chemical - hydrofluoric acid free (read: less "tramatic" to your clothes - less toxic for you). it is designed to "remove" rust from fabrics and textiles and does so very well. if you try to use this for other than it's designed purpose understand it may not perform to your needs. all of the wilson spotting chemicals are first rate industry standard products and work well at their designed tasks.
