These work great. I ordered 2 of them 1/4 inch a 9x12 and an 8x8 to put under thinner area rugs in the living and dining rooms on a polished tile floor. I'm not sure why so many people have slipping issues. Maybe they are upside down. The rough side needs to be up. I've had no issues at all. Have 4 young grandchildren and a dog. High traffic areas. Only 4 stars because they were about 5" around bigger than the sizes I ordered and has to measure and cut them back. You may want to size down to avoid that.

If you want your carpet to last, use a rug pad. It also makes it much more comfy to be on. I got this rug pad in a 1/4 inch thick size, which is good, but think next time I'll get the 3/8-1/2 inch for more cushion. Nothing wrong with this one, it is very nice, gives you all the padding you need, but I spend a lot of time sitting and playing on my rug, so a little extra cush would be even better. :)

Pad needed some trimming but overall was just what we wanted. Wrapped right and delivered promptly.

I have hard floors so this felt pad underneath my rugs make them feel cushy and luxurious. I highly recommend the felt pad. They also help the rug from slipping around too easily. Love it!
