Does it stay on all the time? Can it be wired to go on when the train approaches?

It of course it has a switch to turn it off and on but is not set up for a train table. I could probably wire it to go on when the train passes but I don't know if you could. This is not a light that is built to train scale.

I am getting my nephew the Thomas train tent so would this be a good thing to put inside the tent?

It is pretty loud but my 3-year old son LOVED it (and he loves Thomas and all trains). Let me put it this way, I wouldn't want to be in a tent with this when it's on, it would give me a headache.

the lights don't wag , they flash back and forth and have real sounds.

Can you mount it on the wall?

I don't think it would mount flush to the wall.
