Nice, reliable printer
This is my new printer. I got it with no time to delay as I needed to print up some important papers. Despite the fact that I am not too tech savvy, I was able to set it up and get it printing wirelessly right away. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and the color prints are very vivid. My choice for a well priced printer! Good job, Hewlett-Packard!

Nice Printer - Beware "Customer Service"
The printer arrived safely, nicely packaged on the scheduled date of delivery. Wireless set-up was very easy. On the control screen, there was a HP web site that users were advised to contact so as to complete the printer-to-computer activation. When the site was accessed, a chat screen opened up, with a request for a contact telephone number. I was almost immediately contacted soon after by an "offshore" consultant who promised to quickly finish the software tasks necessary for my printer to talk to my Mac. All went well for a few minutes, until I got an "uh-oh" from the representative. He said he couldn't complete the activation due to a "communication platform problem", and would have to refer me to their technical support. I was then advised that the technical support necessary to clear the "communication platform" problem would involve a one-time charge of $99.99. Sensing a scam (as I've almost fell for these tactics when dealing with miscellaneous other software and hardware "technical support"), I aborted the call. I suggest that buyers of this printer most definitely use the "manual" option for the computer-printer set up, which is a menu selection on the aforementioned control screen. No-cost help in completing the set up is available thru on-line searches and uTube tutorials. DO NOT FALL FOR THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT SCAM. Otherwise, the printer is a good value and has worked well since I completed the set up function without any further help from our offshore friends.

Good product for the money
Easy to set up ... I'm a techno dummy, and it took no effort to set up wirelessly and connect that way with my PC. Quick and quiet, good quality print. Scans well, just doesn't allow multiple-page scans that I've figured out yet.

Annoying software, outrageous ink, but economical scanner
My Brother scanner ran out of ink (yes, all combo printers need ink cartridges to scan) and wouldn't recognize a new cartridge. I needed a scanner for occasional use, and found them to be double the cost of a printer/scanner/fax/copier. This printer got okay reviews, so I bought one. Cons:- Ink is incredibly expensive. Read the reviews of the ink cartridge (HP 63) if you're actually planning to print.- Printer is very flimsy. To be fair, printers costing 5X more are also flimsy. You never know if you're opening something, or about to break the plastic.- Software is incredibly annoying. Look up reviews of their software - 40% 1-star reviews. Hey HP: you're a printer company. Can't you at least make good printer software?- Disables your real printer if you have more than one.- Wants to sign you up for all sorts of ink subscription programs.- Impossible to type in a wireless password. There is this stamp-sized touchscreen where you're supposed to pick characters from groups of 3-4. Maybe if you're a millennial or a Jedi you'll be able to do this, but I couldn't.- Doesn't have a USB cable.Pros:- It's cheap.- If you only need to scan, it's a better deal than any scanner.Believe it or not, those pro/cons sum to being the best inkjet multi-function device I've ever owned.

I cannot get this printer to print Word DOC's via ...
I cannot get this printer to print Word DOC's via USB, will only print if I email it to my laptop and then print via Bluetooth. HP has no fix for this, will not buy HP again!!!Update:It worked the first month just fine. Then it stopped printing word documents, then it stopped printing PDF documents, and now it won't print anything from my desktop. I have to email items to my laptop and then print them wirelessly. HP has been no help trying to solve this issue.

The printer quality is better than I expected
The printer quality is better than I expected. I got this to print custom dominion cards among other things, and the colors are very detailed and vibrant. My uploaded image doesn't do it full justification as my phone camera isn't the greatest. Also very easy to setup and install. If you are like me and get an error when trying to install the printer on windows, simply go the hp website and download the driver-product installation software.

Very Easy to Setup
Have to say, it was a very nice & easy setup. I've only printed out a dozen or so pages so far but everything seems to be running fine. The price was right and the shipping was super fast. I was extremely happy about that.

Remember when HP used to be a marque of engineering quality and excellence?
Remember when HP used to be a real company? One of the engineering giants of the world? Before it became a peddler of ink and a bad designer of plastic printers? I have come to think less and less of this company over the last 2 decades, but this piece of qualitative junk is an engineering embarrassment to the company, its engineers and the country it calls home. As a friend of mine with whom I used to work (many years ago) on a series of extraordinary HP3000 computers ... it runs, but it doesn't really work.If you're looking for a printer for your 5-year old daughter, assuming she is not too particular about things like print quality, this printer will do. Or perhaps you might print recipes for her easy bake oven ... a piece of engineering prowess far surpassing that of the company that still carries Jim Hewlett and David Packard's names (can't imagine what they'd think or the HP of today). I wouldn't advise using it for any serious work, and certainly not for anything I intend to put my name on.HP Envy 4516 Wireless-N All-In-One Printer Inkjet USB 2.0 Scanner and Copier
