Great Purchase!
We purchased the DuroMax XP10000EH Dual Fuel Portable Generator. It was easy to set up and use and easy to roll around. We set it on our back porch and ran a heavy-duty cable connection through our kitchen window using a foam pool tube (lots of online videos). This allowed us to protect the cord and close our window for security. Works great. We also got a quote to install an interlock and a main breaker on our home panel. The materials & labor were $1200. My point in telling you this is because of its adaptable qualities. We are incredibly happy with this purchase.

Got me through a full day of no electricity!
Lost power due to storm. Have a Reliance power inlet installed on my house to run 14 circuits. Used a 30 amp cord to connect generator to house. Set up was easy. Be sure to have 10W 30 oil on hand. Ran upward demand of 7000 watts, which included two full sized fridges, a freezer chest, boiler for house and hot water, microwave, and several lights and outlets. 2-1/2 gallons of gas provided 4-1/2 hours of power under my demand, which I thought was great. Noisy unit (aren’t they all?), but oh well.

So far so good. Runs great
It never fails to start. Runs great on gas and propane. I haven’t really tried it out yet but I am sure it’s going to be amazing when I have to. The gas gauge does not work. Not a big deal

Not bad
Unit came several days earlier than expected. Went together pretty easy. Had a bit of a problem starting on propane, (don’t plan on using gasoline) but it was me not the machine. Once I figured out the proper starting procedures it started well. I have yet to test it under a load as it was just too cold around here to do that. Once I do I can amend the rating and maybe bump it up to five stars.

BUYER BEWARE
I used the 50A connector and as a master electrician, I was immediately taken aback at how cheaply made the provided connector was. Nonetheless, everything appeared to work initially. I have owned the generator for 14 months now, and since I live on an island and experience frequent power outages, it has been put to good use. However, within the first month, the main breaker failed and single-phased. I was in a difficult situation, so I bypassed the breaker to get me through the outage. At the one-year mark, it failed to start during the monthly exercise, even though I run it on propane and keep it on a charger. I changed the spark plug, but it still didn't work.I contacted customer service since there is a three-year warranty, and they were helpful and sent parts as needed. However, they refused to pay for labor costs, and after replacing the carburetor, disconnecting the oil sensor, and replacing the magneto and spark plug assembly, it still won't start. I don't want to pay to have this thing fixed when that money could go toward buying a better generator.I hope your experience is better, but I would advise you to keep looking if you're shopping for a generator.

A whole house generator
I live in New England where the smallest draft will often cause a power outage. I needed a whole house generator and like the idea of the dual fuel. I had a smaller one but that forced us to run extension cords to the house. It got old tripping over them in the dark and being unable to clean especially during a power outage. I need to bet your generator and this one has served its purpose well on several occasions.I cannot run the range or some other larger heating elements. A tea kettle, for example, will cause the entire house to dim, so figure some other way to heat your tea if that's important to you...
