I have become a fan of Ann Mayburn over the last year because of her original and creative writing. Well she has outdone herself with Ivan’s Captive Submissive and I have found myself a new book boyfriend.Gia meets Ivan through a BDSM charity event. Ivan sees Gia on stage and is instantly captivated. After spending a small fortune to have her, Ivan is determined to give Gia the fantasy that she wants. Gia has always fantasized about being kidnapped and forced to submit to her captor. Unfortunately, Ivan does such an amazing job giving Gia her fantasy that she doesn’t realize that it’s all pretend. Gia is angered that she is falling for her kidnapper and tries to resist Ivan at every turn.Even during her believed kidnapping, the chemistry between the two leaps off the pages and right into your heart. Once Gia is made aware of the truth, the passion gets even hotter. Ms. Mayburn has the ability to write sex scenes that are so steamy I recommend keeping a fan nearby as you read. Ivan’s Captive Submissive is not for the faint of heart. There is very little that the two do not explore including ménage, f/f and so much more that pushes the envelope. But, wow, does Ms. Mayburn understand submission. She treats the subject with dignity and class and shows the real beauty involved in BDSM.Ivan is your ultimate Dom. He’s not only handsome, but confident, demanding, thoughtful and loving. Throw in his Russian accent and you can see why I’ve picked him as my book boyfriend. The way that he tortured Gia with sexual pleasure actually left me blushing and panting.Gia is an intriguing character. She’s smart, sassy and a bit of a brat so it’s surprising how comfortable she is in her submission. I appreciated how she could stay true to herself even while submitting. Her concerns about committing herself long term to Ivan are realistic and understandable. Gia would have to give up everything she has worked so hard for in order to be with Ivan and until she can trust in his feelings for her, she is hesitant.While it may seem as if the focus in Ivan’s Captive Submissive is sex, I believe that the loving relationship growing between Ivan and Gia takes front stage. Their road to love is not without bumps and each needs to learn to work together in order to make a successful relationship.Ivan’s Captive Submissive is the first in Ms. Mayburn’s new Submissive’s Wish series. I am so excited that this is going to be a series but I wasn’t ready for this book to end. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the next one, but in the meantime, Ms. Mayburn has a big catalogue of fantastic books to keep you busy.

This was like a modern day BDSM fairy tale come to life! This book begins at the interesting Submissive's Wish Auction and flows into Ivan and Gia's story. Part of the submissive's wish list includes all fantasies that they are interested in, and one of Gia's is a kidnapping fantasy. Ivan goes about setting this up for her and even after reminding her of her safeword a couple of times prior to beginning, she honestly believes that it is real. I believe that during this time that she knew on some unconscious level that she wasn't truly in danger because she was able to let herself get into a few of the scenes sexualy. It is quickly resolved after a scare on both of their parts, and they continue on with their week together. To me, if she had been completely terrified and afraid, she would have left after that, which she doesn't.This had a very unique storyline that I enjoyed, the characters were all very easy to like, open and honest with their sexuality, and the respect & care they showed their partners and friends made for a wonderful read. I love reading books about the BDSM communities/groups/couples. This story is extremely erotic and sensual, but also opens up their lives, dreams, and ambitions for us to enjoy. They're both developing deeper feelings for the other but at the same time are somewhat hesitant for their own reasons, which is understandable. Will they be able to get pasts their differences? Will she move to a new country with a stranger to see if they can make it work? You definitely need to check out this great beginning to what is going to be an amazing series!There were a couple of things that I had some minor issues with. I know it's been mentioned in other reviews as well, but the beginning of this book, during the kidnapping scene, has a strong resemblance to a book by Red Phoenix. It was more things said and done, the sub being kidnapped by the Russian Dom, etc that made them so similar. This is the only part of the book that resembles the other one. I love when authors use different languages in their books when there is a character included in the story that uses it as their primary or secondary language. However, because I do not know any other languages, I expect that when these are included in a book that their meanings will be also included in some way. I did not like that it took several chapters before any of the words being used were explained, and even then it wasn't all of them. It made me feel as though I was missing a small part of the story by not understanding what was being said. After a while, I was able to comprehend most of what was being said and it made it easier.I really like this author and her ability to create such unique, sensual, and erotic stories that are more than just about the sexual encounters and very interesting. I really enjoyed the idea of this Submissive's Wish Auction for this series and can't wait to start reading the next book!I strongly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a highly erotic and captivating story.

Ivan's Captive Submissive, by Ann Mayburn, is one of my favorite erotic romances. It has all of the hot and kinky twists one can expect from this type of genre.This novel follows Gia Lopez, who signed up to be a submissive for a week in order to support her charity. Gia begins her captivating journey feeling insecure, thinking that no one will bid for her. But, someone does...and it is a shocking amount that surprises her. Her new master, Ivan, pushes her to her limits and she unknowingly does the same for him, which is what they both want and crave. As they become intensely attracted to each other, they hope things will last, but..there are many bumps in the road for them; leaving them both feeling helpless and wondering if things will ever work.This erotic romance is much different from what I normally read in this particular genre, starting with the submissive auction! I loved that idea and the details were so descriptive that I felt I was actually there, on stage with Gia, waiting on my bid. And the kidnapping scene...very unexpected and had me thinking twice and wondering what was really happening. What a great scene! Each of the characters in this book, including the secondary characters, all had amazing roles and were vividly detailed, leaving the imagination to conjure the going ons clearly. The sensual scenes were sizzling hot and satisfyingly thorough. Two thumbs up to Ann Mayburn for developing well thought-out scenes.Reading Ivan's Captive Submissive gave me a different view of the Dom/Sub world that I haven't read before and this is why I love this book, it is refreshingly different. I recommend this book to all erotic romance lover's out there and I will continue reading this series! Can't wait to begin the next book!!
