One word....WOW!!!
Wow!! Let me start off by saying that. Wow on the quality...Wow on the SOUND!! When feeling this little guy, the design company really wanted to stick to the motto..."size isn't everything". And this design proves that. This speaker feels substantial. The sound is comparable to an expensive Bose...JBL speaker. But please note...I am not a sound tech or a music aficionado, I just like good, clear, crisp music coming from my speakers and this little guy delivers. This is made for camping, but heck no...I am keeping this bad boy safe in my office as my office speaker. Small enough to go undetected, but powerful enough to be heard.

Amazing performance from a tiny, rugged package
When I saw the announcement from Muzen about this little bluetooth speaker I was very excited. I was instantly drawn to the design. As a designer/engineer/fabricator, I knew that this was something I had to own. I am a returning Muzen customer because I already own one of their OTR metal speakers. From my experience with the OTR, I expected the Wild Mini to be a high quality product, and it did not disappoint. I have been using the speaker frequently for over a month now. The design still delights me every time I look at it. It looks like a piece of military surplus equipment. It would look equally at home in a vintage jeep or the cockpit of a jet. Muzen deliberately featured exposed screws and hardware in a thoughtful manner that accentuates the rugged look. The large metal volume knob has a knurled texture and a satisfying click as you rotate it. This knob is secured on the top of the speaker with a small “bracket” and some more exposed screws. On my gray colored version, all these visible screws have a shiny gunmetal sort of finish that contrasts the matte gray color of the speaker. Adjacent to the volume knob is a power indicator light that can also act as a flashlight. Under normal use, though, the light pulses softly with a warm glow. The charging port is under a hinged cover that has a rubber seal to keep dust and moisture out. The other controls are a combined skip-track/pause button and the main power switch, which is a spring-loaded toggle that can also be pressed to activate the flashlight. When the Wild Mini is establishing a connection with your device it emits a beeping “signal” sort of sound that evokes the retro-military vibe in a whimsical way. Based on my experience with the OTR, I expected the speaker to be made from quality materials. Indeed Muzen demonstrates that using quality materials matters. The Wild Mini is almost entirely metal, and, as a result, has a heft and quality feel. All of these design choices make you feel connected to the Wild Mini in the same way that you would feel connected to a favorite tool from your toolbox. This brings me to the final aspect of this speaker: the performance. Once again, Muzen has shown that larger than life sound can come in a small package. The sound quality is quite surprising given the diminutive size. I should also point out that the packaging design is among the best you will find. My gray version came in a utilitarian-looking plastic case that latches closed. This is another demonstration of the thought and care they put into all aspects of their product. Overall, I am very pleased with the Wild Mini. I really appreciate having a small, rugged speaker that is just as enjoyable to admire as it is to play music on.

Great sound, but picky on USB charging
Gentlemen, I'm afraid you'll have to actually read the directions on the full operation of this unit. Sorry.Build is very sturdy. Everything feels solid and feels like high quality. The sound for the size is quite impressive. It's louder than I expected and there's some good bass for not even its half pint size form factor. No review is without its gripe, and this one is deserved. The USB port.....You cannot charge with a USB-C to USB-C. It has to be a standard to USB-C....and it needs the longer tip, so be sure to use a cable where the tip isn't on the short side. Why Muzen, WHYYYYYYYY!? Most of my cables are now C to C, so grab an adapter and be sure the battery pack you use to charge it has a standard output.

The wild mini’s sound quality it just WILD!!
This is not my first experience with a Muzen product. As a matter of fact it is my third! The first one that I purchased was the Muzen OTR rosewood small portable outdoor speaker. I purchased that several years ago and truly loved what I heard. The presentation of the leather carrying case and all of the added accessories it came with really impressed me because of all the meticulous attention to detail. So when I saw that a new product was coming out like the wild mini, I was really excited! I had read about all of its features and was just thrilled with what it promised. The rugged construction , the look of a tiny walkie talkie that might have been used in the Vietnam war, the little but very bright light, the fact that it was waterproof and even the stamp of 1964, which just happens to be the year I was born! I HAD TO HAVE IT!! When I received it I was impressed with the how heavy duty it’s case was and it had a good solid weight to it, but not too heavy. When I turned it on I was madly in love with it! First of all the aesthetics and size of the speaker were really true to its description “mini”. It was very solid, the flashlight was very bright and most importantly the sound were all amazing!! When I listen to it I still scratch my head as to how so much big sound can come from this little tiny box. I love this speaker so much that I ended up buying another one for my nephew for his birthday. When he received it he said that he chuckled because he couldn’t believe what I was telling him about the big sound that came from this little tiny speaker until he turned it on, then he was truly blown away! He still calls me often just to play it over the phone while laughing in the background. He still is in disbelief, but loving every single minute of it. So far every Muzen product that I have purchased has gone above and beyond my expectations. My favorite so far is the wild mini. It’s just absolutely perfect and I totally dig it!! I have even downloaded an app that allows me to use the speaker as a megaphone because I do many live speeches and the sound carries a very long, long way. All I can say is that if anyone reading this is in the market for a small Bluetooth speaker with a big sound, yeah there is a lot of competition out there, but for the price this speaker really takes the cake. I’ve even considered buying more for gifts for the holidays. I get very excited and enthusiastic when I purchase something and it far exceeds my expectations and cost is far less than I would expect to pay for such a giant sound.
