Up0768 is copper rich, up0769 is zinc/copper. which is this? description states up0768 which makes it copper rich, but states zinc/copper in descript.

I used the —pol 0768 which on the can states copper rich . I don’t know what the MSDS states and there is no further information on the can . I don’t know this from experience but have read that zinc weld through primer needs more dry time and is not as easy to weld through . I think I would agree since zinc in primers I’ve used before tend to dry thick and do need more dry time . And that was just home center spray cans such as rust oleum . At these prices , I could not afford to compare .

The tip clogged, where can I get a replacement can nozzle?

Maybe here on Amazon ? Never seen them available locally . Try hood can upside down and spraying until the spray comes out clear . That should clean the tip on a new can to prevent clogging . Maybe soaking old tip in acetone may clear the tip but spray primer and paint is usually difficult to clean when dried inside a spray tip .

I don’t know how helpful this will be , but one can at 12 ounces allowed me to cover between 15 to 20 foot sections with weld joints that averaged about 1 - 3 inches . This was following directions at 2 passes , 10” from surface . If I remember correctly , I had to use a little of my second can just to ensure even coverage . I’d like to say that it’s important not to saturate the surface on the first pass . Spray it somewhat faint but even . Allow to dry before a second coat is applied . You’re looking for an even coat after the second application that isn’t thick looking . Any more than that is probably wasteful and counterproductive to the welding process . It was my first time using a MiG welder for body panel repair/assembly . I believe I did a fair job but was concerned to burn through . Easy on the wire speed but a little hot on the amp/volt setting to ensure good penetration is advised . I tried to adhere to this but my machine does not have finite settings in graduation as a more expensive machine does . I did practice on 2 pieces of 18 gauge but could only achieve moderate success since welding on weld through primer is a bit tricky . With a good machine and better settings , you can do fine . I did the best I could but my spot welds held . I had no confidence that my spot welder would fire through the weld through primer , and it didn’t . Both , my welder and spot welder are 240 volt . I would think better equipment may yield better results , along with better skills . I do believe however the weld through primer survived the welding process to the degree it did but knew the rust proof coating would have to do the rest . I still have a good portion of the second can but I think I can say it will not do coverage as I needed for the Jeep body project I assembled a few years ago . I will say that it’s 12 ounces and can be expected to cover a much as any 12 ounce can of primer or paint , but at a much higher price . At the time of this writing , the quantity was very low . I would say this product can’t be kept on the shelves very long . It’s pricey but likely very worth it to an advanced user .
