DoorBird WiFi Video Doorbell D202, Stainless Steel, Flush Edition

I was expecting a high quality product at this price point. What I received a terrible and overly expensive device that struggles to do what it's built for.The motion sensor is weak, at best, and delivers an incessant flow of mostly false alerts. The software is not user friendly - cumbersome to use and has an ugly user interface. This camera is only 720p, ridiculous given there are better alternatives available for half the price and with better functionality providing 1080p.Being able to answer the doorbell should be the most basic and most reliable feature of a doorbell but with this product it happens to be the most difficult and glitchy. Additionally, the speaker is far too quiet and I can rarely communicate with whoever is ringing the the bell. In fact, most times before the software can connect to the unit the person ringing the bell is leaving.On top of all this it's a large unit that I had to have custom mounted into the wall outside my door. I want nothing more than to get rid of this thing but now I'm stuck with an enormous hole once I do!I wish I would never have bought this. I would strongly encourage anyone reading this to look for a different product.

This doorbell looks great and functions very well. Was very easy to get up and running on wifi.For those who complain about wifi not working, mine came with pigtails for both antenna connections (wifi and 433MHz) so they can be located outside of the metal enclosure to prevent signal degradation.

I bought a DoorBird over other options since it could cut it in and it would sit flush.Here are my complaints:1. SUPER SUPER sensitive to motion: It senses motion and sends a motion notification even for motion that is happening over 85' feet away. That motion is clear on the other side of the street past the sidewalk and into my neighbors yard. Hell this thing even pics up big snow flakes!!! I'm not concerned about snow flakes or even someone walking their dog on the other side of the street!- When I contacted them about my concern and asked if there was a sensitivity adjustment they basically said having such controls would have made the DoorBird too expensive. I responded by stating I have a $139 Ubiquiti G3 which allows for custom motion areas, custom motion sensitivity, it powers over POE, can notify me of motion, can record on motion and continue recording after motion for the time I set, it can even back up and record prior to motion to the amount of time I set, and it records audio oh and also has ZOOM and 1080p. The only thing the DB has over it is 2 way radio. To which they said you can't compare the two. Sounds like an excuse to me.2. OUTDATED 720p: Even if you wanted to see something 85 feet away it wouldn't much matter because it is using a 720p camera. You can't see any usable detail outside of about 5 feet. See picture3. Ability to LIGHT ADJUST: during the day when someone enters our entry the camera cannot adjust in time to actually take a usable picture. See pictures.4. Repetitive Motion Pictures: because the motion is so out of wack a picture is taken when some enters our entry way but no other motion is sensed or picture taken. You can see the picture that is of the individual that is back approximately 12' no more motion pictures will taken of this individual as he approaches, turns, leaves etc. As you can see from the picture you can't make out much details of this person.5. PAID SUBSCRIPTION: if you want access to your recordings it is going to cost a $48 annually! It will take stills for free up to 20 motion and 20 ring the doorbell pics.6. CUSTOMER SERVICE: good luck trying to get someone on the phone unless of course your in Germany. They say they have an office in San Francisco but no number. Emails take up to several days before being responded to.SUMMARY: It looks nice, cost way too much money for what you get, was already outdated before they even started production (720p) and the overall function is garbage!Bought a RING pro and have never looked back! Far superior to the piece of junk!

Never fully worked!Installed and:video and sound and most of the functions worked but the strike. My electrician tried in many ways and wired it as specified on the instructions.However the trike NEVER worked so it is USELESS..

We have installed several doorbirds thus far and have to say that is NOT a DIY product and should be installed professionally.The reason for that is that the 1st couple of times, it was a learning curve as we had to understand the best practices in order to avoid issues in future projects.WIFI: I have a couple of wifi and you have to have robust enterprise grade wifi and the antenna extended in the wallWIRING: Try to hardwire power via an 18/2. we have learned that it leads to more reliable operation and allows for longer distances- Hardwire it to the network- There are a lot of relays and releases that it has which is powerful- You will need a power supply to release a 12V strike...APP/INTERFACE: The app is user-friendly and has gotten a lot better. They are slow but meticulous about their updates and releases. Same with product releases.SUPPORT: We have never had issues with support as a dealer, this is a professional product and if you go through a dealer you should not have any issues.FIT AND FINISH: We really like the fit and finish, all the products are essentially the same, and with the D202, the module is simply mounted on a more attractive platePRICE: We agree that this is a lot higher priced than comparable items such as ring but there is nothing out there other than C4 Intercom that does the same.- Ring - takes 3 seconds before you see who is at the door, REALLY!!! - No relay or ability to control gate or strike- The integration on this unit is great as well, allowing you to control bluetooth, zigbee locks and seemlessly open them from your app or integrate into a 3rd party controller app such as Control4.Doorbird has it's issues, but once you learn how to navigate around them and learn their methodology, it is a reliable, good product.

Ich hatte mir den Doorbird bereits im Januar 2017 bestellt, da wir im Juni 2018 ins neue Haus ziehen wollten. Aber irgendwie fand ich erst letztes Wochenende nach 9 Monaten die Gelegenheit und Ruhe, die Anlage zu installieren. Aber egal, ich verweise auf die Bauzeiten BER und Elbphilharmonie. ;-)Den Doorbird hatte ich aber natürlich bereits direkt nach Lieferung getestet. Da die geplante Außenwand eine Vorort-Beton Wand war, musste ich natürlich die Abmessungen für die Aussparungen und die Position der Kabelkanäle vorher mitteilen. Das hat soweit alles gut geklappt. Probleme hatte ich mit den Schnellverbindern, der Türgong wollte nicht so recht. Nachdem ich den Doorbird wieder ausgebaut hatte und die Verbinder noch mal kräftig mit der Zange nachgedrückt habe, war alles gut. Die Bildqualität ist sehr gut, obwohl ein bisschen verzehrt aufgrund der gekrümmten Kameralinse. Zumindest sieht man auf den Aufnahmen schlanker aus. ;-)Für die Befestigung der Rahmens in die Betonaussparung musste ich 4 zusätzliche Löcher in die Rückwand bohren. Eine seitliche Befestigung ist es eh ziemlich schwierig, außer man hat einen 90 Grad Winkelbohraufsatz. Aber die 5 Schrauben für die Rückwand reichen locker aus. Das Relais für die Türöffnung habe ich zwar getestet, werde ich aber final nicht anschließen, da mir das zu unsicher ist. Außerdem bin ich noch von der alten Schule und begrüße meine Gäste lieber beim Öffnen der Haustür.Aufgrund der Bewertungen und den daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnissen habe ich mich gleich dazu entschlossen, das ganze über LAN (Doppel CAT7 Kabel) zu machen. Ich habe damit auch keine Probleme. Kaum merkbare Verzögerungen auf dem Handy (Gong springt gleich an) und auch die Verbindung über das Internet klappt reibungslos. Sprachqualität und Lautstärke konnten durch Einstellungen in der App angepasst werden.Ich werde demnächst versuchen, meinen ONVIF Server zum laufen zu bekommen und dann den Doorbird dort anzuschließen. Aber diesmal bestimmt nicht wieder in 9 Monaten, ich schwör. ;-)Positiv:- gutes Kamarabild- viele Anschlußmöglichkeiten- Cloud kostenlos (begrenzte Aufzeichnungen)Negativ:- Sicherung der Aussenschrauben, auch wenn ein Spezialwerkzeug notwendig ist, um diese zu lösen (z.B. zwei Bolzen mit Loch oder Einkerbung, die vom Unterputzgehäuse durch die Frontblende gehen und die man mit einer Metallleiste verbinden und verschließen kann)- bessere Sicherung des Namenschilds (z.B. eine Metallverkleidung dahinter). Hat man das mal draußen, kommt man leicht an die Verkabelung. Welcher Draht welche Funktion hat, kann jeder aus dem Internet erfahren.

Installation erfolgte über ein bestehendes 8 adriges Telefonkabel. Der Lieferung liegt ein 4 adriges Kabel bei, dass man auf der einen Seite an der Türsprechanlage ansteckt. Auf der anderen Seite habe ich die alten Telefonkabel angelötet. Diese habe ich im Keller abgegriffen, ein Netzwerkkabel angelötet und diese an meinen POE Switch abgeschlossen.Die Doorbird funktioniert jetzt über LAN und POE soweit ohne Probleme. Des Weiteren nutze ich ein Fritzfon C5 zur Videoübertragung. Da das Fritzfon an der Fritzbox, Doorbird aber an einem Unifi USG Gateway angeschlossen ist hatte ich erst Probleme aufgrund der verschiedenen Netzwerke. Aber auch dies lässt sich im USG Gateway und der Fritzbox durch Routing Regeln beheben.Der Doorbird Support reagiert schnell, ist technisch fit, hilfsbereit und lässt auch mit sich telefonieren!Fazit nach 1,5 Jahren: Weiterhin sehr zufrieden!

(REVISIÓN DESPUÉS DE 2 AÑOS DE USO) Muchos problemas. Inicialmente fue todo correcto pero pasado un tiempo el relé que abre la puerta dejó de funcionar. Me puse en contacto con el servicio técnico y un caos. Solicité un servicio técnico y me pusieron en contacto con un instalador de a más de 50 kms de Barcelona y que una vez contactado con el, me confiesa que aún no ha montado ningún aparato y no lo conoce realmente, así que no me puede dar servicio de reparación. Me pongo en contacto con Doorbird Alemania y me sugieren varias cosas que fueron inútiles.Hoy, después de dos años y tres meses la cámara empieza a fallar, produciendo intermitencias y falta de luz y color. Muy decepcionante ya que no tengo ni idea de donde llamar para que me solucionen el problema. En fin... Muy poco recomendable!

Habe die Doorbird Videostation im September 2017 gekauft. Bewegungsmeldung und Meldung beim Klingeln funktionieren, die Gegensprechanlage wird von mir nicht genutzt. Was aber richtig schlecht ist, sind die Aufnahmen durch die Kamera. Man erkennt maximal bekannte Gesichter. ich bin sehr am Zweifeln, ob man im Fall der Fälle solch ein Foto zwecks Identifizierung verwenden kann. Das macht jedes billige Smartphone besser.
