Perfect and lightweight
The cold came and I was so glad to find this in my closet! The wool is not itchy at all but lightweight and helps maintain body temperature in a regulated way as all merino wool does. I can comfortably wear it all day if needed. It is looser than a regular turtleneck shirt and can be easily donned on and off, making it ideal for a variety of temperatures and situations. It's the same thickness as my other merino wool shirts so I will wash it on cold and line-dry only to maintain its form.

Keeping warm
I purchased for a trip in Iceland, I haven't used it etc but the wool is soft it's not thick and bulkly Ànd I believe it will work keeping neck ad face warm.

Really Long
These are really long. Longer than other neck gaiters I tried. They are soft to the touch and warm, and do not appear to have any bad odor. I just wish they weren't quite as long.

Attention To Even The Small Things
This gaiter is pretty nifty. Merino wool is some great stuff for a number of reasons (I'm sure the other reviews will tell you how soft it is), but it can often be a lot more expensive because of the quality. This is quite reasonably priced; granted it's ultimately just a tube of fabric, but there's quite a lot of the fabric here for your money.Secondly, it's lighter and thinner than you'd expect from a wool garment. This means that it's less likely to overheat you when things turn warmer. Don't be fooled though, it still insulates better than normal wool, so it's not to going to let you get chilled; especially if you double it up around your face when the temperature turns colder.Speaking of thin, even doubled it lets a lot of breath through the material. This is great if you have eyewear you don't want to fog up. It's also not so great at replacing your face mask during a pandemic for the same reason. It's also somewhat stretchy, which is nice too. I don't know how they managed to make a wool garment stretch as much as it does without mixing in a more elastic fiber, but the tag says the gaiter is 100% merino wool. Perhaps the weave of the fabric?Speaking of the tag, it was really easy to remove. Merino.Tech was smart enough to attach the tag very loosely, and the connecting thread could easily be pulled out with a toothpick. No cutting or ripping the tag required, it came out clean. I like small design choices like that, it makes me think the designers really put thought into every little thing. Finally, the clear bag it came in says it's recycled and biodegradable. Heck, they even say on the bag they'd rather not use them at all if it was reasonable to do so. I was impressed at that.At the end of the day, I like merino wool over almost any other material for any season. It's as soft as cotton, but with a lot of other pros that cotton doesn't have. Merino.Tech made a good impression on me with both the big and the small stuff. I'd order from them again.

Great gaiter, kept me warm without overheating
I purchased this gaiter for this winter but with the intention of bringing on a long backpacking trip to Havasupai Falls in November. This little gaiter worked like a champ. I wore it on early morning hikes, as a mask when I was in town, and as a hat when I slept. I never overheated and didn't feel any sweat. My glasses didn't fog up when I used it as a mask. I've never owned a buff or a gaiter like this before. I've had those turtle fur ear/neck wraps and this is so much better. the thin merino wool breaths infinitely better. I was also very happy that this gaiter had a lot of fabric. It was both the longest and the widest buff out of the ones I ordered. this is ultimately why I kept this one. Also, because the blue/teal (deep ocean) color is great and coordinates with my winter coats. I appreciated that the logo is quite small on this and isn't a separate scratchy tag like some other gaiters. I hate when there are large obnoxious logos on items, so this gaiter is perfect for me.

Not meant for extreme winter sports/snowboarding.
I picked one of these up for snowboarding. The length was great actually. It pulled up easily around the back of ones head and lower face, but it just isn't made for harsh mountain conditions. It's too thin for starters, it could easily be twice and frankly 3 times as thick. It also eventually just froze stretched out and was no longer snug against my face. More of an accessory piece v.s. extreme sports. The wind cut right through it almost as if it wasn't even there.

Warm and quality made
This neck gaitor fits fairly tightly around the neck which is what I wanted for a trip to Antarctica. I was given another looser one but wanted the tighter fit for more warmth. It worked perfectly and didn't itch. I could also pull it up over my cheeks and mouth to warm up that portion of my face. A quality product.

Great Value: Reasonable Cost, Many Uses, Great Performance
I'd never even heard of a neck gaiter until I started researching ultralight backpacking gear. One article of clothing stood out, the neck gaiter. I decided to find out for myself if all the accolades had merit. I am a big fan of merino wool, but it tends to be pricey. Lo and behold, I found the Merino.Tech merino wool neck gaiter on Amazon for less than $20.This product is amazing. Not only is it warm, not only is it soft against my skin, but it has a veritable smorgasbord of configuration options. Beanie, balaclava, bandana, ear muff, neck warmer, "and more"!One of my pet peeves about cold in general and winter specifically is that my bald head wasn't designed for it. Problem solved with one article of clothing! Whether I've been out grocery shopping or day-hiking a trail in near-freezing temps, this Merino.Tech gaiter kills the draft at my neck, wards off frozen ears and wicks away sweat while enveloping my bald pate in cozy warmth. This gaiter is stretchy, long enough to serve all the configurations I've mentioned and yet it's very light (2.2oz/64g on my scale). They even come in lots of colors. To sum up, the Merino.Tech merino neck gaiter is a great value. The reasonable cost and it's broad utility make it a perfect match for comfort while ultralight backpacking or any other outdoor adventures in cold weather.
