I have had no issues with slipping on wet surfaces.

Q: If I’m a size 7 In boots should I stick to that size or go a size up and get 7 1/2?

Definitely go 1/2 size up. These boots are not for wide feet.

Q: Does the squeaking sound go away with wear?

My boots haven't squeaked, try cleaning them, is it the soles, or the uppers? Possibly a slightly damp cloth might help.
