Easy to use, makes clean consistent cuts. The blade design works well and the pill centering is simple and accurate but the mechanism could be a little more robust. Time will tell. So far, very pleased. Works great.

I recently switched my dog to the compounded version of Pimobendan, in an effort to try and save a little $. The new pills are tiny, just barely 5mm. , and my regular clam style pill splitter wasn’t doing a very good job. Decided to give this one a try, and it’s working out much better. I have to really take my time, and apply even pressure when I press down to cut the pill, but it’s worth the effort. Sometimes I still end up with a few crumbs, but I just use a pill pocket to pick them up. The name brand pills were quite a bit bigger, and even though they were flavored, I still had a hard time getting my dog to chew them up. Now he’s happy to get his tiny 1/2 pill treat twice a day!Also, because theses pills are so tiny, I can cut the pill pocket into 4ths, which also saves money.

Very happy with this, it works great. I was able to cut an odd shaped pill with out any scoring with no trouble at all. I would recommend.

This pill cutter may work well for most people, but for my particular needs it is actually less useful than the older style cutters with a single top blade. I have two cats on medication, and their tablets are quite small (about 1/4 inch in diameter). To yield the correct dose, each tablet needs to be cut into quarters. This splitter does fine making the first cut - splitting the tablet into two halves - but does not work for splitting the halves into quarters. The half-moon shape of each half tablet no longer fits securely into the part of the cutter designed to hold it. At that point I have to revert to the older style splitter, which will (with some fussing) hold and split a half-moon shape. Also, although the spring mechanism of this device is cleverly designed to hold the pill snugly, I have found it to be a bit fiddly. Lastly, when the pill is in place and the top of the cutter positioned to press down to make the cut, there is a fair bit of wobble which can lead to slightly uneven splitting. The bottom line, based on my experience, is if you need to split tablets only in half, this cutter may work fine for you. Judging from the many positive reviews, it seems to work well for most.

It's easy to use and works well. The centering mechanism and top/bottom blades make a very clean cut. I cut about 60 pills; not a single one was crushed.One suggested minor improvement: Make the lip on the base a little wider so it easier to hold down while removing the top. (I have reduced mobility in one hand.)

I have had several pill splinters over the years, but the Equa Dose is the best I have ever used. It is easy to place the pill to be split in the proper location to be split. Most splitters don't have this. Second, it splits the pill clean without crushing part of the pill. It costs more than other splitters, but it is worth the extra cost.

If you need to cut your pulls, please try this device!! I have tried several different pill cutters and this one does the job perfectly 95% of the time! It will occasionally cut crooked, but that is usually user error, not device error!! There's very limited crumbling from the cut. In all the other devices I tried, there was always crumbling from cutting. This has bottom and top cutting blades to evenly cut without chipping the pill. I use it at least 5 times a day, literally, and not been disappointed! The price is right on point, and less expensive than most!! Definitely worth it.

I've cut over 100 round 10mm wide pills and this device which has worked better than any I've tried up to this point. Perfect cuts, very minor residue if any, and fairly simple to use. You can only do one pill at a time but the dual blades really make for a clean cut. You just need to get the feel for the top lid pressure, I put my whole palm on the lid and gently push down for a clean snap every time. I'd almost give this 5 stars since it's so easy to use but it does have a quirk with getting your pill set in the "V" and then sliding the bar back to lock it into place, By the time you get the lid on (since this part tends to move the pill sometimes) you may need to readjust the pill with the locking tab once more (very minor gripe though). This is a "slow and steady" pill cutting process and it produces flawless perfect splits for me every time but If you need to cut a lot of pills, you may want to get one of the splitters that does 4-6 pills at once instead though.
