UPDATE After over 2 years of near daily use: the black coating is almost entirely worn but this is still a great looking fur saver. The worn off black coating doesn’t affect the quality in anyway and it still looks great regardless. I updated this review so buyers wove aware that the coating won’t last forever but it’s still the same great quality fur saver. This was the first fur saver I’ve purchased that had the color coating and I would still purchase another one. You can still see the faint dark coloration to it but just know it will eventually wear.This is actually a very reasonable price for a Herm Sprenger fur saver. I purchased this short link for a short coated working dog (Doberman). I highly recommend this collar and it will last for many years (hence my review title). Far superior in quality than those big box pet store collars. Looks great. Avoid the cheap stuff and buy this one. If you have a longer coated breed such as a German Shepherd, I’d recommend the long link fur saver.

Great for trialing my German Shepherd since a fur saver is required for protection sports. Bonus I can also use it in AKC rings too. Would bot use as a daily/ unsupervised sollar due to it being a slip that could get caught and choke the dog.

This is a high quality collar. Light enough to remain on the Spock’s (Siberian Husky) neck all the time and strong enough to hold the beast when he thinks he is pulling a sled. We got the black one and it ages well loosing some of its color to become a dark grey finish. We try to keep it away from sea water and when we do go to the beach like with any of Spock’s things we rinse with sweet water. So far so good. Buy this with peace of mind.

This collar looks great on my dog and it is strong enough that I’m not afraid that my 95lb dog may break it. She could probably pull a truck with this thing!!! Awesome collar.

We have a doberman. Any other collar would rub the hair off around his neck. This collar stopped that. It's a beautiful complement to our handsome boy!
