Every nut farmer and jewelry artisan is paid a fair, livable wage under safe and healthy living conditions.Tagua nuts, also known as vegetable ivory, grow on the Tagua palm which is found in tropical rainforests of northwestern South America, including Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. When dried, the nuts are carved into a variety of items, including beads for jewelry. Tagua is a sustainable substitute for ivory.
