The best EDC blade bar none
I’ve always hated the way Spyderco knives look with the goofy hole in the blade. That being said, I’m kicking myself for not buying one sooner. I’ve bought a number of other knives, and nothing holds a candle to the paramilitary 2. My ZT Sinkevich looks better, but the paramilitary 2 has absolutely perfect ergonomics. The g10 handle is sturdy, lightweight, and has unbeatable grip. It carries effortlessly with n the pocket and opens buttery smooth. The compression lock has rock solid lockup and by design it’s basically impossible to accidentally close. It’s honestly the best knife ever designed. Got mine on sale here on Amazon for about $160, an absolute steal. I really wish I got over my objections with the aesthetics sooner, I would’ve saved a lot of money. If a better edc exists I haven’t found it. Btw the Spyderco look is really growing on me, it’s a damn good looking knife!

The knife that all knives want to be.
All knives want to be Spydercos and all Spydercos want to be PM2s. This knife doesn't have any true flaws. Out of the box it's razor sharp. The action is smooth and deliberate. The geometry and ergonomics are spot on. It feels great in the hand. The gray G10 scales look great and are grippy without being too rough. The compression lock, while not my favorite style, works and works consistently. The PM2 might be a little big for EDC, but it is a great knife to have in your lineup. If you drive a truck, or a car, or a motorcycle, or if you ride the bus, or a bike, or a horse, or if you just walk you should have one of these knives.

Freakin awesome
People werent lying, this knife is so awesome feeling, and holy moly it is sharp. It is so so durable, and the quality is top notch. People always complain that the knife is too big for edc, but they are wrong, it fits amazingly in your hands, and has a nice feeling in the pocket.

Best Folder in my Collection
So I really didn't NEED a new knife when I bought this one. I have plenty of knives, and I'm very happy with all of them. But after reading lots of reviews and hearing how much everybody loves this knife I gave in and bought it.First Impressions:- It came out of the box hair popping sharp- The action was smoother than any other knife I own, but stiffer than I expected- The larger hole was nice- Flow through design was a nice to have- etcBasically everything seemed pretty good and I liked it. But I wasn't incredibly in love with it, I mean it wasn't like I was ready to have it replace all my other knives. So I started carrying it as my EDC and thought I would see if it grew on me more, or if it was just going to be added to my rotation. After Regular Use:But something happened the more I used it. The action loosened up a little and now it takes very little effort to flip it open. I have forgotten about the extra heft in my pocket and it has become a non-issue. And after a few weeks of carrying it and using it I realized I love this knife. Picking up my other knives (Spyderco Dragonfly, Spyderco Delica, Spyderco Endura, etc) I noticed how all the features in this knife add up to be an amazing knife. The Spyder holes on my other knives seem too small now, the actions too stiff and difficult to open, the blades too thin, too short, too long, etc. Basically this knife has become my one EDC knife. The blade length is perfect at < 3.5 inches. The handle large is enough to play around with different grips and have them all feel comfortable. The CPM-S30V steel cuts all day long without needing a touch up. I did hit the sharpening stones to polish up the edge so that it would last longer and it was pretty easy to grind the steel the way I wanted. The blade shape is great for slicing and it easily slices through food, cardboard boxes, cable ties, plastic packages, etc.All sharp corners were smoothed out so that nothing catches while pulling it out of your pocket. The lanyard hole (not that I use it) is large enough to actually put a lanyard through it. The jimping on the thumb ramp and choil allow you to choke up on the knife and keep a secure grip on it.I could go on and on about all the little details of this knife that, on their own seem simple and obvious, but add up to a brilliantly designed knife. If you want my opinion, don't believe the hype, buy it and see for yourself instead! You won't be disappointed. If I were to only have one folding pocket knife, I would have this knife.

Very Impressive
seriously, for about $125USD as of early 2015, this is one of the best folding knives you can get on the market. The compression lock is great, and only takes a couple minutes to get fully accustomed to. it allows you to quickly flip open and closed the blade with very little effort, yet the lockup is extremely strong, so there is no worry of the knife closing on you on accident, unless you do something stupid, like bash the blade with a sledgehammer. I like the compression lock so much that I havent actually used the spyderhole to open the blade in a long time.you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura.The blade comes uncomfortably sharp from the factory and being that its S30V, it will be moderately easy to keep it that sharp. Ive cut myself already on this blade. I slipped while cutting something, and I felt it scratch against my thumb. I looked over, and didnt see anything wrong, no cuts, no blood. A couple minutes later, I noticed that my thumb was bleeding... didnt feel any pain or anything, and thats before I touched up the blade on my sharpmaker after some hard use.The G10 scales are extremely grippy, but not rough enough to be uncomfortable, think of it kind of feeling like a nail file, except not made of steel. there are also skeletonized steel liners that make the handle rock solid, with no chance of warping or flexing, even from hard use.The tip is very fine, and I have already slightly blunted it from my use/ineptitude at sharpening. The only thing that I can really complain about is that the main weakness of the compression lock is keeping a blade closed. It is solid as a rock open since you would have to somehow cause about 1/5" of steel to literally snap for it to close, but there isnt much pressure keeping the blade closed besides a bearing in a groove. I can get the blade to deploy by vigorously shaking the knife, which surprised me at first. Because of that, I exercise extra caution with this blade since I carry it tip up. There shouldnt be any real issue with the blade opening by itself since there is more than enough pressure keeping it closed, and it takes quite a lot of unintentional movement to have any real chance of it opening by itself, which shouldn't happen if you keep it in your pocket.for most people, this is the perfect size for EDC, at about 3.5 inches, I find it to be a hair too big for me since im used to carrying 3" blades like the Benchmade Emissary or the Delica since im a small guy. Im usually fine with up to 3.25" blades, but 3.5" just feels a bit out of place for me.The clip comes from the factory for right hand tip down carry, I easily swapped to right hand tip up carry with a small torx screwdriver. So far, this is my favorite knife, and for anyone looking for an exceptional EDC should consider this, especially if you like something that opens and closes with almost no effort with only a single hand.
