Sipping Stones Whisky Rocks - Set of 18 Pure Soapstone Whiskey Chilling Stones in Gift Box with Pouch and Tongs

I bought two of these. It says that 18 are in the package. One arrived complete and intact. The other arrived opened and with 3 stones missing. Would've given this a four star, but I'll be taking a star back for incomplete delivery.

I like to drink lots of different types of scotch, and I like my scotch cool most times but don't want to water it down. I bought the 18 pack so I had enough for a few people to use. I looked at a lot of reviews and saw that some people didn't think they cooled down the drink or some said it left a residue. I washed the rocks before I used them and cleaned out the inside of the bag. I placed them in the freezer and the next day I used 5 rocks with some 18 year old Chivas. I waited about a couple of minutes and it had chilled the scotch and did not change the flavor saw any residue. The rocks kept my drink cool but if you wanted to cool down a large drink or wanted to refill your drink a few times you may have to add a few more. I like them and glad I bought them. I also purchased at the same time some ice spheres and I like them better than just using standard ice cubes.

These stones work great. Putting them in the freezer damp is supposed to keep them cold longer, but i keep putting mine away wet and they all freeze together. :) I couldn't find any information on whether or not these particular stones were safe to use in the microwave (for hot drinks), so DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. I tried a couple in the microwave and mine didn't spark, which I hear happens when there are impurities in the stones. Overall, a great price for a great product. I've used them with several different beverages and they are always clean with a rinse.

I was once disappointed to add ice to chill my drinks, but with these sipping stones, they don't water down my drink. I'm wishing it would chill the drink more then it does, but as stated, they chill between 8-15 degrees. The pouch is a fantastic way to keep them all together and has a draw string to close them in. i ordered 2 sets of these and it became apparent that they need to find a better packaging method. one set was perfect and all the stones were beautiful, but the other set had 5 stones that were chipped. One of the stones had a chunk the size of a dime chipped out of it. They are shipped in a lightly padded envelope that contains all of the loose stones in a velvet bag that's wrapped in a single layer of small bubble wrap. that being said, they arrived quickly and were cool to the touch with out freezing them so it seems promising. UPDATE: i contacted the seller about the chipped stones and they're sending me a replacement set free of charge! just went from 2 stars to now 5, very satisfied

I'm a bit of whiskey connoisseur so of course I've heard plenty about chilling rocks. Even so, I was reluctant to try them. These ones were affordable enough to be worth the gamble and even come in a nice little pouch. They do drop the temperature of whiskey by a few degrees but be aware that it's not the same effect you get with ice. The benefit, of course, is that these stones won't dilute or otherwise water down your whiskey.

Excellent product for the price. These stones function equally well as more expensive stones I have bought. The only 2 complaints (and why they only got 4 stars) is that they seemed to have a fine powder in the bag with them when they arrived. After a good washing, the residue has gone away; and secondly, their finish seems to be less crisp than other stones on the market.

They do what they say they will do. They chill the drink. For those who like to have drinks on the rocks (and are used to the fact that the ice melts in the drink) you will have to get used to the lack of dilution. Also, the rocks tend to have a smell to them. Not sure if this is from other “stuff” that is in the freezer or the rocks themselves.I am now using them in combination with a couple of cubes of ice. Keeps the drink cold but still get a little ice dilution.

They are worth the price, they stay cold but it takes a few minutes for it to cool a drink down

They look so incredibly nice and are in a lovely (fake) velvet bag, HOWEVER, when I kept them in a plastic bag in the freezer (without the velvet bag) they had a 'freezer taste' with whatever drink I placed them in and when I tried just keeping them in a plastic bag in the fridge it was the SAME BAD TASTE in the drinks!!! The whole point was to keep drinks cold (without being watered down by ice) NOT to create a bad taste!!! What a shame as I gave 2 of the 3 sets to others as Christmas gifts... embarassing... DON'T BUY THESE.

Stones themselves look great, bought as a gift for a friend. Did not come with the tongs though.

They were not as big as I thought but they still worked

Good product when you can get it on sale.
