A definitive guide to cruises
I've been purchasing this guide for many years because I feel it is the definitive guide for people interested in cruises. I like the ratings of each area (accommodations, food, etc) because the reader can determine which areas are important or not. There are some inconsistencies but overall is is more objective than other books.

Cruising ship bible
Great guide with a lot of information about cruise ships; got this edition at a lower price $21.19 vs $24.49 from Amazon because a few of pages had defective binding; did NOT affect reading the latest edition

2020 cruising ships
Berlitz Cruising & Cruise Ships 2020 (Berlitz Cruise Guide). Was not exactly what I wanted, but is completely usable for my needs.

The latest edition is absolutely essential for anyone booking 3 or more cruises a year.
Outside of a few weird things such as their top-rating of Viking Ocean and Llyod, this is the most useful resource available for those booking multiple cruises. It's also inexpensive and a great value.

A very complete guide with many ridiculous ratings of ships
As long as you plan to use it as a sole source of information about equipment, size and technical parameters of different ships, this very complete guide can be very useful. However don't expect to find inside ratings objective enough to be trusted.Example: how Queen Mery II can be considered as one of the best ships in the world in acomodation (174/200), food (319/400) and service (335/400) category, if on this vessel there are three completely different classes with prices going from 1 to almost 10? Which of these three classes is rated? Another example: how MSC Maraviglia having passenger/crew ratio of 2.9 can be rated 308/400 – the same mark as Seabourn Quest deserving passenger/crew ratio of 1.3? There are many so ridiculous examples inside...Conclusion: for ship rating you better use other sources of information (Cruise Critic, Trip Advisor and similar).
