Surf rod
It’s a nice looking rod and reel and appears to be well manufactured. I used it in the Atlantic Ocean today and I was able to cast and retrieve just fine. Unfortunately I didn’t catch anything to really test it. Overall one is getting a quality combo especially for the price and 5 year warranty. However, as mentioned by others the packaging should be improved. It was wrapped in a thin plastic sleeve and shipped in a huge!!! box so it could have and probably was knocked around a lot. It would be better in a more narrow box with bubble wrap to keep it secure. But, it all worked out.

Great combo great price
Great combo and a great price thanks to seller/Amazon. Perfect Christmas gifts for 4 people and myself. Action is medium lite exactly what I wanted for soft plastic fishing and float and fly rigs. Reel is infinite anti reverse with no slop pulling back on the reel handle, for better hook sets. Can't wait for warmer weather and get to fishing. If I can remember I'll update once I do so.

Bummer
I caught a 2lb bass on it and unfortatly the tip snapped off the rod still got the bass though. The reel works good but my wife's rod won't stay together and mine broke on the first fish i caught third cast. Wouldn't Recommend.

Such a fun combo
I love this thing. It’s sometimes hard to hook larger fish because it’s so light but when you do it makes for a great fight. It’s my favorite for smallmouth bass in my local river. I could hook more fish with my larger setup but it’s so much fun with the ultralight, especially when you get a decent sized fish. I use this more than any other spinning combo in my lineup.
