Great value for a great deal. Beautiful bold colors!
After researching a bunch of different color pencils I decided to give this company a shot. I wanted something to be a little more tougher or rigider than Prisma colors. Honestly every time I use a prismacolor the tip is already dead and I have to keep sharpening it. Don't get me wrong I just ordered 120 prismacolors recently I do love their creaminess. These keep their points after coloring. These are semi creamy they're not as soft as Prisma colors. After trying to watch a few videos and see some foreign reviews I decided to purchase this and review it for those of us who need a review in English. I just received them and made a whole color chart. Do note that some of the colors on the outside do not match the true color of the pencil. Otherwise I do love these and can't wait to make some artwork with them. I haven't drawn in a very long time but now I'm beginning to do that. The photo of the horse that I have uploaded notice I used Prisma colors (as a side note it's the scholars and the premieres mixed) at first and then I used the Creyarts to enhance the colors in the second photo.I would definitely repurchase these when I need to. They are definitely worth a try as you can see from my samples that there is a variety of colors there are neutrals and skin tones as well which I love. I especially love the fact that there is a salmon color and another neutral skin tone that I cannot find in my prisma set.I hope this review was helpful.

Just as good as the original 48 color set !
These are amazing pencils. I can happily stand by my original review of the 48 color set and say that the formula has not changed and these are just as wonderful as that first set. The picture shows how wonderful these lay down on normal coloring book paper - they are even more amazing if you use them on high quality drawing paper with good tooth.I am uploading a video to YT as Amazon still seems to have a lot of issues with uploading videos (at least for me lol) but as they don't allow links in reviews, just go to YT and search for "Review Creyart Colored Pencils 120 Color Set".I highly recommend these pencils to anyone who enjoys coloring, drawing or working in colored pencil in any other format (such as coloring wood burning projects). They blend and feel very similar to Prismacolor - the difference being they will hold a point a little better than Prismacolor pencils. I have had no issues sharpening them but please do use a quality sharpener. So many folks that I have seen complain about pencils breaking constantly are most likely using a cheap sharpener and not using it correctly (twist the sharpener, not the pencil).Lightfastness is of course, questionable, so these pencils are just for the fun and enjoyment of creating art. I think I may actually set up a lightfast test for these as I have a south facing top floor window that will get at least 10 hours of direct sun a day and would be great for testing. If I do, I'll update this review with the results. Keep in mind a full lightfast test does need to be done over at least 3 months and preferably 6 - so the results won't be here for a while :)

Great Colored Pencils, BUT Possible Defects
I got this set after a whole lot of debate. There are so many pencils on the market and when you start to read reviews, you find out very quickly that they will be as different as spots to stripes. At first I wanted to go with a higher quality wax base (all I’ve ever used is Crayola and the awful Roseart) Prismsacolor was the pinnacle, but the price wasn’t as sweet. I read an article saying that beginners would find oil a rough transition, but after offering a family member the Creyart (48 pack – all they had at the time) I soon learned how inaccurate that was. But the fact that they only offered 48 was a big turn down. I wanted a bigger palette preferably more then 72 if possible. It took me so long though to choose what I wanted that few months later Creyart released this set of 120.First off, please beware if you’re buying this as a gift, or maybe as a backup set. At this point I don’t blame just the company, but also the packaging from Amazon and handlers during shipping. Check your pencils carefully! The first one I received was a disappointment! Yes, it came in a box because fortunately I ordered something else, but there was a major factory flaw. Many pencils had split barrels; some so bad you could see the lead inside! (I’m adding a few pictures showing these defects so that you know what could happen). Others had some barrel defects, where it looks like it’s been squeezed or twisted. After receiving the replacement, I was again disappointed because this time Amazon sent it in a padded envelope as it was the only item. It shipped very fast, I got it in 2 days, but the handlers made the most out of it. Broken leads, etc. not good at all to get them in a padded envelope. Keep this in mind especially if this is intended as a gift! The pencils arrive in a tin box that is hinged. It shuts very firmly and though it’s not the easiest thing to open, I’m happy cause it means the box won’t open easily by accident. Inside you’ll find 2 thin “sheets” of foam to pad the pencils during transit. Another factor that I was pleased about. The pencils are divided into 3 trays (plastic). Fortunately Creyart thought well about this by providing little elastic handles for you to easily lift out each tray. I had considered getting another type of storage for my pencils then this, but after seeing how well it’s done, I’m keeping it in its original packaging. The pencils are not ordered by color; you’ll find them to be randomly laid out and numbered that way. On the pencil, they give the number of the color, and the name. The colored end of the barrel isn’t very accurate, as you’ll see on my swatch chart. I quickly sorted them out (not perfectly at all) but even so I encountered additional surprises because the color ended up different then what it shows on the barrel. I’m glad though that they chose to write the name of the color, because I hate dealing with numbers only. The palette is just….wow. There’s no other way to describe it. There are no doubles; each color is another nuance of the scheme. Its very well laid out, transitioning well through many different shades. There are colors good for skin tones, they even give a silver and a gold. (That does have a little shimmer on there as well!) There’s no wasted color in my opinion, there’s enough of each without overdoing it. I’ve heard that some sets offer way too many grays, this is not the case here, you have a few shades enough to give you plenty of options. There’s a white, and black, and I find the black to be nicely pigmented when comparing it to a color wheel. The pencils lay down smoothly; you can tell they are oily. And as they are oily you can use them alongside Oil Pastels for details. The colors are vibrant. I did notice that some of the pencils were a little more “scratching” then others, but overall they seem very nice.I’ve read another reviewer complaining about the lead breaking easily. I wonder if they were talking about sharpening. This seems to be a major problem with lots of pencils. Time will tell, but I did already sharpen one and experienced no problems. That said, I did take care to use a higher quality sharpener (in this case Prismsacolor) and sharpen it the “right” way (I had no idea there was a proper way to sharpen colored pencils!) by holding the pencil steady and twisting the sharpener gently to obtain a new point.I’ve yet to put these pencils to hard work on a coloring page, but I look forward to it. I expect it to be very satisfying, I’ve watched a youtube review on this product showing how they layer and react to a blending pencil or white spirit. It's called "Présentation des crayons "CREYART" by Art-Thérapie : Coloriage by Marie. Here's the link if amazon doesn't remove it, otherwise you can retrieve it with the title: youtube.com/watch?v=_VDF8hlBfn4 (in French, but you can still see the demonstration) They layered very nicely and responded well to both the blending pencil and white spirit. I will be adding a blending pencil to my arsenal in the near future. The swatch chart that I’m sharing has been done on regular copier paper. I did not press down hard on the pencil, to get the results I did.For the price, you definitely can’t go wrong getting this set. It’s a great way to upgrade to something better without spending too much. The pencils are wonderful, the palette is perfect. Hopefully Creyart will keep their fair price and not raise it like so many others after so much time. I would not have taken the leap and bought this set hoping it would be good if the price had been higher. Just keep in mind that there are some rotten apples in the barrel so you may find yourself doing a return to get a better set.Note: that my second set came with some flaws but as they were minor I didn’t bother. The broken leads were because of -obviously- bad packaging (bubble envelope) and transit handling. Maybe this will be resolved better in the future, though as of now, I seem to be the only reviewer who has experienced these difficulties.Once i finish a coloring page, i will add it to my review.
