Fine SD card with substandard warranty
Pros:1. Higher than advertised sequential read and write speeds for an endurance rated card(Advertised: R: 100 MB/s; W: 40 MB/s | Actual: R: 98 MB/s; W: 87 MB/s)2. Cheap (I got it for 1069 INR)3. Free 1-year subscription of their RescuePRO Deluxe data recovery softwareCons:1. Only a 2-year limited warranty. Transcend offers 3 years and Samsung (if you can get their cards from an authorized dealer in India) offers 5 years.Review:I needed an SD card to use with my Raspberry Pi 4 computer that will be running non-stop as a home server and I expect to have a fair amount of reads and writes. Low power usage is critical to me so I can't boot it off of an SSD so a high endurance SD card it is. I did the usual CrystalDiskMark benchmarks on a PC by connecting it over a SanDisk UHS-I card reader and also performed a real-world read/write test for large sequential files and it performs okay but how will it fare in a Raspberry Pi? I didn't know.I was already using a regular (non-endurance rated) Samsung EVO SD card with my Pi 4B for a while so I figured I'd benchmark that and replace it with the SanDisk one and compare the two. I used James A Chambers' TheRemote/PiBenchmarks suite (on GitHub) for the comparison and here are the results:Control - Samsung EVO Plus 128GB microSD:Category Test ResultHDParm Disk Read 42.16 MB/sHDParm Cached Disk Read 41.82 MB/sDD Disk Write 21.8 MB/sFIO 4k random read 3389 IOPS (13556 KB/s)FIO 4k random write 723 IOPS (2895 KB/s)IOZone 4k read 9923 KB/sIOZone 4k write 2554 KB/sIOZone 4k random read 9283 KB/sIOZone 4k random write 2618 KB/sScore: 1188Test - SanDisk High Endurance 128GB microSD:Category Test ResultHDParm Disk Read 41.54 MB/sHDParm Cached Disk Read 42.50 MB/sDD Disk Write 28.0 MB/sFIO 4k random read 2949 IOPS (11797 KB/s)FIO 4k random write 879 IOPS (3516 KB/s)IOZone 4k read 11059 KB/sIOZone 4k write 2251 KB/sIOZone 4k random read 7465 KB/sIOZone 4k random write 4035 KB/sScore: 1327
