Perfect coloring book for parents to do with their children!
Things I like:1.The coloring book is nice and big. It is a fun activity to do with kids. You can use crayons, colored pencils, stamps, markers, and paint with it. The pages tear out easily which is great if you want to paint on it on an easel.2. While the paper isn't card stock, it is sturdy enough to withstand a toddler coloring really, really hard without the page ripping.3. The lines that draw out the objects on the page (like a bird or flowers) are bold and thick.4. Finally, there is a variety of objects and animals to color which makes it great for both boys and girls.5. If you want to make the most out of this coloring book - color with crayons or colored pencils on one side of the page and then flip it over and you have a blank canvas. Feel free to get creative and paint, draw, throw stickers and stamps on it, etc. When you're done, throw it in your kids' scrapbook. The only thing I would add to this would be stickers. So many coloring books offer stickers at the front or back these days that I was hoping there would be. Regardless, the coloring book offers everything a coloring book should so I don't see why it would receive anything lower than 4 stars.

"The Bestest Coloring Book"
I have it on good authority that this is "the bestest coloring book," especially if you love princesses. This is the first Melissa & Doug jumbo coloring book that I've given as a gift and the little girl who received it was thrilled. Based on her "bestest" rating, I've given others in the series, and all have been well-received.I agree with the "bestest" rating for a number of reasons. The 14" x 11" size of the pages is child-friendly and allows for some detail in the pictures without making the different sections of the image hard to color. In addition, the quality of the paper is excellent and I like that there is a drawing on only one side of the page. This not only eliminates the potential for bleed-through of color to a picture on the other side, but also gives a child a blank canvas on which to draw once done coloring, encouraging creativity. Having 50 pages gives a child, or children if they're sharing a book, plenty of choices. All 50 pictures are shown on the back of the shrink-wrapped book, making it easy to select a book for an individual child's interests.Since giving the initial book as a gift, I've ordered at least 10 in this Melissa & Doug jumbo series through Amazon. In addition to the Princess & Fairy book, I've bought the Animal; the Vehicles; the Space, Sharks, Sports & More; and the Horses, Hearts, Flowers & More. All work well for children in the 3-7 recommended age group.I think pairing any one of these books with a new box of crayons, colored pencils, or other age-appropriate medium, makes an especially nice and very affordable gift. The price on each of these coloring books fluctuates on Amazon. I've seen them priced as high as $9.99, but I wait until they're in the $4-5 range to buy. With a box of 24 Rose Art colored pencils, about $3 when I bought them on Amazon, you've got a wonderful gift for under $10.Since I found these coloring books, I haven't bought any other brand. So, yes, I think they are the "bestest" and would highly recommend them.

Nice, clean, uncluttered coloring pages
Nice, clean, uncluttered.

Awesome!
There is just enough detail to keep an older child (11ish) entertained, but not too much to frustrate or overwhelm a younger one (4 or 5). The papers are HUGE and aren't tissue paper thin, so they don't tear easy. Crayon works best, or colored pencil. I can't tell you if they marker would bleed, but I can tell you that the kids enjoy pointed out the animals and drawing for hours.

Large, good quality and great pictures to color!
If you have a little girl who loves Barbie, horses, butterflies, hearts and flowers, this is the perfect coloring and activity book for her! I bought this for a 6 year old girl on my Christmas list, and I am impressed at the size (11x14), quality of the paper, selection of 50 pages to color, and the price. It comes sealed in cellophane, but I opened it to make sure it was decent before I wrapped it.The pictures are large, and perfect for the coloring skills of a 4-7 year old. Some of the pictures are simpler than others, which makes it useful for a younger sibling too. I'm sure any little girl would enjoy getting this coloring book - I know I would have!

Detailed coloring book - high quality with a lot of variety
I never thought I would write a review for a coloring book, but this is a great one! My three year old twins love that they get to color such detailed pictures of all sorts of animals. There are a lot of pictures of an adult animal with its baby, which my children particularly love. They are large sheets of paper, which is great for my kids who color all over the place. They stay in the book well, but also tear out extremely easily when you want to pull them out. There is a slight trade-off here, though. I think every page is a different kind of animal, so you get a lot of variety, but not multiple pictures of the same kind of animal. I know my daughter would love to color 10 different pictures of puppies, and she didn't get that with this book, but I think she really enjoyed the variety nonetheless.
