A must have for joist hangers and other connectors (and great warranty service)
In the last month I've used this tool to install a couple thousand nails on a decking project. Not one bent nail, it's amazing and easy. Don't get me wrong, the macho side of me wants to swing a hammer, but for close quarter nailing this tool is indispensable. The plus: It just works. So easy even a kid can use it. (Hey kid: put a little weight on your palm it'll drive in faster)The not quite as good: It's a little messy at first. Mine sprayed and leaked a bunch of dark oil the first day I used it. I think this just the factory assembly lube because it's been declining and is nearly no longer present any longer. See photo. Just hold a rag over the tool for the first day if this bothers you. It's an air hog for sure. Your pancake compressor may need regular breaks between nails to get back up to pressure. The awesome: In my case the magnet disappeared which let it still useable, just proved to be annoying as it can no longer be used single handed. I contacted Freeman and they are sending me a new one with magnet intact! I love a company that stands behind their warranty. It's a great tool and terrific value. This is not my first freeman pneumatic tool and it will not be my last.

Worked much better than I had expected!
This is the first time I have ever used a palm nailer. I had a small space that didn't give me enough room to swing a hammer. I put in a number 4 inch nails and then put other nails along my garage walls to hang things on. This was amazing. The nails went in like butter. I'm 70 and I wish I would of had something like this the last 55 years. Incredibly simple to use and worked perfectly. In fact, it was way better than I had hoped. And at this price I'm going to get some to give for Birthday gifts.

Works with 1-1/2" galvanized nails too.
Specs say good for 2"-4" nails. I thought why not try this palm nailer on 1-1/2" galvanized joist hanger nails? It worked fine...I'm very happy it made the job of nailing Simpson Strong Ties Stair Stringer Connectors easy. I was on my knees, bent over on my hands, reaching around with my right palm and nailing upside down underneath the stringers to fasten these three brackets...each one used about 21 nails. Simply insert nail into magnetic barrel and find the hike with the nail, press palm into nailer, up against the bracket and wood and rappppp! Done! Easy peasy...every builder or DIYer should own one. Totally worth the $38 it cost me.

Super small and powerful
The media could not be loaded. This is truely a palm nailer as it really fits into your palm. It is smaller then other palm nailers that I have used. It packs a lot of power and gets the job done. I used this to put in 1 1/2" joist hanger nails with no problem. The only issue I saw was the magnet did not always hold the nail at the back of the nailer. It would stick out a bit and I would need to push the nail back down to the back.

This even mildly impressed my skeptical friend!
I needed to build a foundation for my resin shed and as I looked into things, the general recommendations were to use nails and not screws. I'm not the best at driving them straight and without error, especially larger ones like the 16d common nails a plan I was looking at called for. I saw a similar palm nailer (Rigid) on Home Depot's website and looked to Amazon for a better price. When I did this came up under the suggested products and the reviews were convincing enough and especially for the price. My friend with a truck that volunteered to help me pick up lumber and do the foundation build told me to return it when I showed it to him and to rent a framing nailer. I said I had faith in it and wasn't going to rent or buy a framing nailer, so it's either this or a hammer! I used this with my air compressor (an upright Craftsman model - 10 gallons I believe) and it hardly kicked on for the amount of nails I was driving. The 16d and 8d common nails I was driving were no trouble at all. I did toenailing for vertical boards and that was not a problem either. This was the perfect tool for the job and a great value. I'd recommend it to anyone doing small to medium sized jobs. If you were doing a huge job, it could be cumbersome loading in each nail separately, but those types of loading nails and the tools for them are a LOT more expensive. This was perfect for my needs and preformed flawlessly.

Didn't work for small nails.
Smaller nail heads got stuck to the side of the impact piece, inside the shaft of the nailer.Would probably work great on latlrger nails... just not finish nails. Not that you should be using this for any finish work. It will put dents in the wood.
