The Library of Piano Classics Plastic Comb – January 1, 1987

I’ve always gone and bought composer specific books but then I bought this one. It had 90% of my favorite pieces, it has a ring binding and print is good. Highly recommend this book for most of the best classical pieces for the intermediate to advanced player.

This has many intermediate and advanced music. I am rusty with my playing, and it gives me lots to work on to improve my piano skills.

I've been playing piano since I was 6, I'm 24 now. I should probably already know all these songs which is why I purchased the book. if you're a beginner, this will give you a great place to learn from. if you're a teacher, it's got plastic binding so you can easily copy pages to give to your students. And if you're intermediate/advanced sight reader like me, you'll have a lot of fun catching up on songs you've heard a million times, with plenty of challenge, and fill in your gaps on knowledge.

I took classical piano lesson from ages 8-18, so about 10 years. I'd say I reached advanced intermediate level, and gave a solo recital as a high school senior playing pieces like Chopin's Polonaise Militaire, which was my favorite. Then in college I had no time for piano, and pretty much stopped playing. That was 40 years ago.Fast forward to today. I'm way rusty, but I figured I'd try to get back on the horse, so to speak. Ordered this book based on the reviews, and it came today. I spent probably 2+ hours reconnecting with familiar friends like some Bach preludes and Chopin nocturnes, and found some new one's I'd like to learn. Although my fingers need some retraining, I was surprised how quickly it came back to me, and I'm very pleased with the level of the pieces in this collection. Most of them are just right for me. As others have said, this is not book for beginners. Intermediate or advanced intermediate, though there are a few simpler pieces sprinkled here and there. And the spiral binding is great.

I had the same book from years ago, but it was all broken for the use, so I decided to buy a new one. As soon as I got it, I noticed that the printing and the quality of the paper was not the same as before. The music is fabulous, the best classics. I wish they kept the same paper quality and perfect printing.

It's a wonderful collection of classic piano compositions. Some of them are familiar to me, as I played them while studying at music school in my childhood. Others are new to me, and I'm eager to learn them.

Wonderful selections. Useful. Fun to play. Binding breaks easily but that is nothing considering the price.

I am able to play a couple of songs. I enjoy playing fantasy impromptu, C minor and I enjoy reading a lot of the music that’s in this book. I highly recommend it.
