I'm happy with the purchase, but MUSICIANS TAKE NOTE!These chimes are tuned to the G **MINOR** scale. From bottom to top: D, E flat, G, A, B flat. As a result, the sound is SOMBER and mysterious. If you're looking for cheery tones, these chimes will not fit the bill. If you look diligently, the little movie that provides you with the sound sample also shows the notes of the scale to which these chimes are tuned. I didn't spot that until after receiving these chimes. It's to Woodstock chimes credit that they do this, but I wish that information wasn't "buried" in a not-obvious spot.And there's another thing to keep in mind. The "drop" - the diamond-shaped piece of wood that is meant to catch the wind - is too heavy to allow the chimes to sound in anything but a brisk gust of wind. The good thing is that the drop is easily replaced. I cut an equally sized diamond shape from the plastic top of a disposable food container and now the chimes sound with subtle regularity.I have found this "heavy drop" issue to occur with other Woodstock Chimes I've purchased in the past, though with others the drop was not replaceable.So I recommend these chimes, but please be aware of those two characteristics and decide accordingly if you're considering a purchase.

I had previously purchased a larger chime from this company and impressed by its quality and sound decided to go with the same brand when purchasing additional smaller chimes.These are exceptional quality for the price - well made, a great size for hanging on my trees and they have a pretty chime. It is good to go right out of the box and hangs easily with good quality cord .The chime is pretty and easily activated in a light wind - but not so easy that it becomes over bearing! It has a delicate pleasant tone.It has a great design, in bronze tones that are simple with clean lines! Overall this is an exceptional quality for an amazing price

My favorite windchimes!! Third set I've purchased. The price here on Amazon is half the price of what they retail for at fancy garden centers. These chimes sound wonderful, even better when paired with other Woodstock chimes. I have Mercury and Mars in the same area. A light breeze is just enough to make them move. I ordered a black set to match all the wrought iron in the garden. The other sets I own ended up getting spray painted after they had aged quite a bit.Woodstock offers replacement parts on their chimes. I was unaware of this until now. My oldest set lasted 10 years in the baking hot summer sun and through years of storms until a piece was lost. I'll be getting the missing part for that set now, reparing them, and returning them to the garden!!!Recommend these!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The hanging ring was missing. I checked the box thoroughly and did not find it. This is a pretty small detail though. I like that the sound is very different than average wind chimes, however, it has a more ominous sound than I expected from the preview video.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  These chimes sound beautiful. They're still fairly high-pitched, but low enough to not be annoying if you don't prefer the chirpy ones. They aren't very big, but luckily it doesn't take away from the sound at all!

I bought a set of these in different sizes and put them near each other. They sound amazing.Woodstock Chimes of Mars, Bronze- Encore Collection, Woodstock Chimes DCB14 Mercury Chime, Bronze, and theWoodstock Chimes DCK47 The Original Guaranteed Musically Tuned Saturn Chime, Black. The paddles are all the same color so they actually match up quite well. You don't really know how good chimes sound until you hear your neighbor's cheap Wallyworld chimes. It is the difference between tuned and untuned.

The best of the best, but don't leave them outside all year... I live in Hawaii, and take these outside when I want to hear them, and bring them in (when I remember!) when we are not on the deck. Heavy UV and strong winds will wear-down any wind chime. While well-made, Woodstocks are not as durable as the price indicates. You buy them for the superb sound. Take care of them like a musical instrument, and they last a long time!

This is an area where people come to both homes. I initially had hanging plants there but they did not like that spot, they like the ground better.I moved in 2011, since then, both homes have been remodeled, painted and landscaped. This area faces East on the Northern side of the park, toward the RV area, which has also attracted increasingly interesting people IMHO. Does music help? Mars is visible in the evening sky facing NW.I sang to the wind instead of touching the chimes. In a few minutes, the wind responded by sounding the chimes. Then I dropped something (I still don't know what) and chimes paused. I refocused my attention on chimes and it started up again.

The sound these chimes make is crystal clear and very tuneful but I want to mention that they are tuned to a minor key. If you know the song "The Rains of Castermere" then you will get a better idea of my meaning as these chimes hit almost all those notes. That is something I would have liked to know before I bought these chimes so I thought I might pass that tidbit on.Now, it's not unpleasant but I think I would have preferred something a bit more upbeat in my garden rather than the Theme to the Red Wedding!That said, it is a beautiful sound - almost ethereal - and I won't be returning the chimes. They are sturdy and well made so it looks like I'm going to be pottering around in my garden whilst humming in the minor key for a long time to come!

My husband is a musician and he has pitch perfect hearing. He said this is stunning sounds beautiful and it’s not too long either. I would give it five but there is a card but hands from it and when I gently tried to pull it off it pulled a piece of wood away as well. But I just tied delightful tune back on and they sound absolutely gorgeous. I am going to buy again for gifts

We have a few windows that we open at home which are still without wind chimes so we have about 6 or 7 now and always looking for another one. Thankfully these days you can usually find previews of the chime sounds online to give an impression of what you will hear (in a decent breeze, at least).I tend to prefer larger chimes and usually rate smaller ones less highly simply because they can all start sounding alike at the smaller sizes (the longest tube on this one is 7 inches, but we have others with longest tubes at 15 inches that produce nice comparatively deep resonant tones). The length of the tube influences the harmonics that it can produce. So, for me, buying a smaller chime becomes more of an exercise in colour matching! Having said that, the bronze tubes seem to be slightly mellower than silver tubes, slightly less bright-sounding, but at these sizes that difference is small.The Amazon description for some reason says 6 tubes, but the chime is pentatonic (5 tones) and therefore has 5 tubes. Larger chimes will also have room for more tubes, and our two largest chimes cover an octave (8 tubes, obviously) which does wonders for the variety of tones and chords the chime can produce.For a nice background sound, all chimes work for me, and as a small 5-tube chime, this is amongst the best, since Woodstock make efforts to tune their tubes and create pleasant harmonious chimes as opposed to some of the nasty discordant ones you can still find if you look hard enough.

I've got numerous wind chimes from this company and everyone unique in every way , this one was for my koi pond it's attached to special pole that I purchased and the sound is enchanting and really soothing , it was well packed and arrived very quickly I wouldn't hesitate to buy another it's stunning
