I really love this little microphone
I really love this little microphone! It's perfect for podcasting - easy to set up, plugs into the USB port, and has nice, clean sound. I was being a bit lazy about my show at the outset, recording on my laptop's internal mic, but all the shows I listened to sounded so much nicer and I just had to take the plunge. My cohost heard the drastic change in my audio and decided to get her own soon after. So, it's easy to set up. Good ol' plug-n-play technology. Works great for recording into Audacity or whatever your software of choice is. The design's cute, the sound is great, and I love the handy tripod - perfect for balancing on a desk. For a hobbyist, this is just all around fantastic. My one complaint is so minor as to not lose any stars - the red light on the front of the mic to indicate it's on is a bit bright, and since I tend to get all up in my mic's business while recording it can be a lil annoying. I wish the light were on the side or back instead of right there on the top. I'm planning on getting some electrical tape to deal with this issue, though, so whatever. Just something to take note of.Also note this iCE one doesn't have the little switch thing advertised on the regular Snowball. I decided to cheap out and get this version, which I'm happy with, but that one looks like it lends a little more flexibility. Which you choose depends on your budget and whim.Just a great mic. I'm really happy with this purchase, and it's made my show sound loads better.

Love my Blue Snowball Microphone
I get migraines often, and unfortunately cannot tolerate a regular over the head headset. I tried three different ones before I gave up and started looking for a microphone only.I found the Blue Microphones Snowball from Amazon by looking for highest reviews but under $50. My husband and best friend both mentioned that Blue Microphones were a very high quality product, as well as by looking at other reviews I was ready to make my order. When it arrived I was surprised how big the Snowball actually was. Its about the same size as my 30 oz Yeti Tumbler as shown in the pictures. It does take up a good amount of room on your desktop, so if retail space is at a premium you may want to look for one with a long neck you can move around.Considering the brand name, Blue Microphones, and the actual device name Snowball... I expected the LED light on the front to be blue, but its actually red. I'm not too fond of that, as its distracting, as well as its just not pleasing to the eye. I find myself watching YouTube videos or Netflix and the little led just pulls me away for a minute or two. Oh and another thing, the light will stay on even if your computer is turned off. So I hope your computer isn't in your room, your not worried about robots taking over the earth (just kidding!) or your not light sensitive.Sound quality: Amazing. I'm not doing anything professional like Twitch or Podcasts, I'm just using it to do tests online as well as talk to friends on Ventrilo.

Great! Here are some pros and cons.
I purchased this microphone a few months ago, and decided to wait until I had used it for a little while until I wrote a review. Here's what I have to say about the iCE Snowball:PROS:-Comes with a nice stand that you can utilize, stands great on my desk and doesn't fall over if you don't hit it.-Looks very good and very professional.-Not too big, roughly the size of a softball.-Sounds great!-USB cord.-Plug it in, and you're good to go.-Good price for the sound quality you get.-You can add many additions to the microphone such as a shock mount, pop filter and/or hood with ease.-Spherical shape allows it to capture great audio even from the left/right.CONS:-The microphone picks up background noise very easily.-Without a pop filter, you'll distort the sound whenever you say a "P" or "B" sound if you're too close. (Happens with nearly all microphones)-Cord is a bit longer than it needs to be.-Very top-heavy, so if you do bump it, it will fall down easy.-Unlike the original Snowball, it only has one recording option.Overall, I'd give this microphone a 4/5. The microphone is great for what I use it for, except for the fact that it catches a lot of background noise. You can definitely use this to record music, whether it's guitar, drums or vocals, but make sure that you have some sound-reducing foam or padding of some sort around your environment when doing so unless you want to hear the reverb.
