It replaces an old Dymo Twin Turbo 450 that worked fine until I changed to Windows 10
I did some extensive research before buying this label printer. It replaces an old Dymo Twin Turbo 450 that worked fine until I changed to Windows 10. The Dymo printer just stopped working and no upgrades of software or drivers would bring it back to life. The Brother QL-720NW is hands down better than any Dymo. Paper is easily switched, It have several methods of connection_ Ethernet, USB, Serial and Wireless. All work well. P-Touch Editor 5.1 software is easy to use and learn. This printer has a cutter and can make custom label sizes using the continuous paper. I have created very specialized labels that were not even remotely possible with the Dymo. I absolutely love the print from my Android Phone application. I can make simple file labels right from the phone without the need for a computer. No Complaints after 1 month of use.

Run away while you can
This printer is the worst piece of technology I've purchased in at least the last ten years. I've spent countless hours trying to print a simple USPS label with no luck. It started off with the printer coming with required software on a CD. Wake up Brother, Macs haven't come with CD drives in years! So I had to contact their support to get download links. While I waited, I downloaded their torturous iPhone app and proceeded to waste 30 minutes of my life figuring out how to print a simple mailing label. Once I received download links from Brother, I installed their P-Touch software. P-Touch must be code for, "the worst software than can humanly be created." I won't go into the detail, but after about an hour, I managed to print a label that was supremely distorted. Each time I tried to print the label again after editing it, I noticed the printer's red error light went on. Apparantly, the printer experiences an error after each label you print, so you then have to go back to your printer and press the power button again. Not very useful for a "wireless" printer if I have to walk up to it and push a button each time I want to print something. Afterwards I figured, I'll try the pbSmartPostage site they recommend. That was a move I regretted. Brother managed to partner with a website that is actually worse than their own products! For one thing, pbSmartPrint required me to enter my credit card on a webpage that had no SSL encryption! Are they insane? And of course I couldn't proceed because their "free trial" won't activate without your credit card. After another half hour of my life wasted on that attempt, I tried to use the PayPal label printing software. Eventually I realized that this torture device software was created by the same terrorists that made pbSmartPrint. I managed to get charged for a USPS label that won't print under pretty much any circumstances I could attempt. So now I have to contact PayPal and ask for a refund. Over three hours into this, I still can't get any use from it. I've bought a hundred items on Amazon and this is the first time I've written a review because my experience was so far beyond terrible that I felt I needed to voice it.

Easy to setup with the Mac software would get more attention.
Brother generally makes pretty good products I have a networked laser printer and the QL-720NW from them. The QL-720NW is fairly easy to setup I used the ethernet connection as opposed to the wireless connection. Plug it in your DHCP router assigns it an IP my Mac picked up the printer as a Bonjour printer. You'll need to download 3 pieces of software from the Brother website:[...]- Stand alone drivers- Software updater which gives you firmware updates and more label templates for free- P-touch editor which is the software for printing labels. (You'll need the last 9 digits of the serial number for your printer which is located on the bottom of the printer)You need the drivers the software updater and P-touch software are optional but I've never tried printing labels without P-touch. There's also an iOS app from the App Store you can download on your iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch. Once you've installed the drivers if you're on a Mac you can install the printer under system preferences, there's one small catch. Make sure you select the CUPS driver instead of the AirPrint driver because P-touch won't work with that AirPrint driver, if you make a mistake just remove the printer and re-add it with the CUPS driver (both drivers are installed when install the driver package). The P-touch software isn't very user friendly and I wish Brother spent as much time documenting how to use P-touch for Mac as they do for Windows. One of the things you probably want to do with this label printer is print mailing labels, P-touch can use the address book on your Mac.Here's where it gets confusing, if you want to make custom formats for your labels for example selecting certain fields from your address book or even combing fields you need to select Address book as the database than click "Connect Fields". Connect Fields lets you combine fields together and add any necessary punctuation for example commas and spaces in your addresses. After you've created your custom layout, you need to click database "Merge into Layout" scroll to the bottom of the list and select your layout. Great so now you see your custom layout on the label size it to what you want. You're probably wondering how you actually see a label with an address before you print it. The only way you can do this at least on a Mac is in print preview, the annoying thing is that you can't adjust any font sizes or resize anything in print preview you have to go back out and adjust it than print preview again until you get it right. BUT... you can in the iOS app, the downside to the iOS app is that there aren't as many layout options and the editor isn't as full featured but ti does get the job done for mailing labels.Brother please give the Mac and iOS app more attention. The printer is fantastic it's very fast.

Impresora Etiquetas

Works Exactly As Advertised
I was worried that this product, like its competitors, might not function with Windows 10. But, right out of the box it functioned perfectly as advertised. One thing that surprised my was its speed - it's fast and labels pretty much jump out of the machine. Another likeable feature is the length of label is controlled to what you set - creating labels for file folders for instance maximizes the print area and fit perfectly to the space available on the file folder. The actual printing is clear and clean. So, no demerits for this product only pluses ...One other thing; I originally ordered this through a vendor to amazon.ca - the vendor apparently flat-lined and became non - responsive. My credit card was charged but hats off to amazon.ca who refunded my money without question. I then ordered from amazon.ca and this machine was delivered within the promise date.

Great label printer.
I got it for printing labels etc. Setup took me a bit longer considering I am a novice, but certainly less than 30 minutes. It works beautifully. I can print from my Mac, PC and mobile phone. Labelling is a breeze. Now there no excuse for not finding a pen!!!! Shopping items needing a date of purchase gets the labels done in seconds. Every one in the household has the app on their phone so they just print it. The various sizes are great for label making. From printing addresses to file names, changing spools and printing is beautiful. I love that it cuts the label for you. A definite plus. Space wise, it occupies little space. I set it up in a high traffic area so any one who needs a label and is linked to my WiFi, can print on the go. It is the best label printer I have. Simply love it.

Excellent portable, dependable and fast.
Amazing, lightening fast, great quality printer, and love the wireless WIFI capabilities. It lost one star because the installation of the drivers is confusing and took hours to figure out how to install on a win 7 system.
