Great Activity Table
We used this activity table for a train set up with the Melissa and Doug Train Set. This is a great quality table that we will use for YEARS!The table was pretty easy to put together. Took my husband and I roughly 45 minutes to put it together with minimal tools. Due to size - definitely recommended having 2 people for assembly.I was worried about the storage drawer being too small, but it has plenty of room for spare train parts (maybe even the full set if my toddler actually ever wants it put away). The table is very sturdy and is holding up to the 3 yo durability test after a month.

Exceeded expectations!
I was concerned at first about the item after reading some of the reviews. The concerns were unfounded. The quality is surprising good. Assembly was a piece of cake (two people are recommended) as long as you follow the instructions which, by the way, are excellent. Hint -- do not use a drill. They tell you that with good reason. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips head screwdriver. There is a small wrench included for some parts. The unit is heavy (60 pounds) and well designed.

With a little modification or two, this table can't be beat!
This is a great play table for our now three year-old. We've had it since he was about 1.5 years old and it's had a lot of use. He climbs on it and sits on it to play, so it is unexpectedly sturdy and that pleases me. I do wish that it either had more storage or that there was an option to build it without the drawer but that doesn't take away from the quality of the product. The reason I mention that is because we use the space under the table for storage of toys that he's not using and the drawer actually gets in the way of that (our home is 850 sq ft so I maximize every storage opportunity). Here's what I love about this table though - the easy to lift table top that is divided in half! There's the green side, which kinda bleeds a little when you wipe it down with a wet cloth, but is still a great general play or work surface. Then, there's the unfinished side, which provides endless possibilities to a DIYer with limited space, like myself. I decided that I could make this table even more functional by making two modifications to it. First, my father in law applied chalkboard paint to the unfinished side of one half and then I attached three of the Lego Duplo 15x15 plates to the other half with wood glue. My son loves it even more now and when his baby brother gets big enough, I'm confident that he will enjoy this now multifunction table too! I've shared some pictures so that new buyers can see the potential this table could have.

Very nice table
I was extremely nervous about buying this train table after reading several reviews about poor quality of materials. My husband and I spent a good amount of time looking for another table that would be the same size or bigger for a reasonable price. We were getting it for my son's birthday so as the time drew closer we just decided to get it. The table is the perfect size and is so far very sturdy. The material doesn't feel cheap or flimsy but it does appear to be particle board or something similar. It was not hard to assemble and we were able to put it together in a little over an hour. The table does sit low to the ground, which is the perfect height for my little. He prefers to be standing when he's playing with his trains. I could see how low it sits to be a con for some however. Overall, I think it's a worthy buy for a children's table.

Not what I was expecting. Disappointed.
Update: my son got tired of the track constantly falling off this table because it doesn't fit well, so I went to put the track away in the drawer so he could try using the table for something else and I can't even put the whole track away... the "large storage drawer" doesn't even fit the track they show it being made for... Pretty frustrating that I now need to purchase something else to store the track...Original: I ordered this table for my son because he loves trains and we ordered him the Melissa and Doug train set and this is said to go with it. All of the parts were clean and well made, no damage or marks. However when I read "storage table" and saw the holes on the top to lift the green flat part of the table, I assumed there was storage under the table top and there is not. It's a big table with one small drawer on one side. The table also only fits the train set in one configuration and it BARELY fits. One bump and the track falls off the side. The table top doesn't even come together so you can't really use it for a craft table because any craft/crayon will just get stuck in the gaps. Overall, I feel like I paid way too much for a plywood table with a small drawer and a thin top that doesn't fit the table.

Not the usual quality of Melissa & Doug products.
Pros:1) It's very big and definitely sturdy.2) It should hold up well.3) It's the right height for kids.Cons:1) The green pieces that make up the top are undersized. There is a significant gap around the edges that small Lego pieces get caught in. We are constantly having to lift the slabs to remove legos and then collecting pieces that fall underneath to the floor.2) It was difficult to put together but do-able. Usually M&D products are simple with great instructions, not this time. Lots of misaligned screw holes etc.3) It's not really clear in the pictures/video but the only storage underneath is in the small drawer. I didn't realize that when I bought it. The other tables I was considering have a tray under the tabletop and the whole inside of the table is storage. Just lift the top, dump it in, and place the top back on. This table only has the drawer. A missed opportunity for easy storage, in my opinion.
