I still have this 4-5 years later and I’m on kid 3. It’s in great shape.

I had my first child and I got all the advice and gifts that come with a first kid. However, people failed to mention this life saver of a baby item. My son has recently entered the self-feeding solid food stage and with that comes the normal rejection and throwing of things he doesn't like. This mat makes his meal times less stressful and easier to clean when he's done. First of all, it's large! Larger than his eating area so it covers all the space I need. He threw his sippy cup the other day and the water that leaked out, just beaded up and sat on the mat. It's easy to clean with a paper towel or cloth but usually, I just scrunch it, pick it up and dump all the food in the trash.The shirt bib is genius! I use it interchangeably with a silicone pocket bib he has but this one is way more effective. I especially use it for pasta night or days when he has to eat before we go out so not to ruin his outfit. I washed both the mat and bib in the washing machine and hung to dry with no problems. To keep the bib stain free, I usually do a quick wipe with a cloth after he eats. Then at night, I soak in warm water, hand scrub and hang to dry. I run it in the machine about once a week and this has helped cut down on dark stains like blueberries, pasta, sweet potatoes, etc.I definitely recommend. Kids are going to be messy so anything that helps cut down on the mess is a win in my book!

I initially ordered this mat to use under my 6 month old sons highchair to protect our dining room rug. However, my 4 year old was playing Playdough on our living room rug and I needed something to protect my living room rug so I tossed this mat down and ever since then it has been used as a Playdough mat, snack mat and everything but a mat for under the highchair! It is AWESOME! The perfect size and super cute! I can't attest to the durability of it because I have only had it for a week now and I have yet to wash it so I will update the review if I have any issues getting it cleaned. I love this mat so much that I am going to order 2 more for my sister-in-laws who both have young kids and another one for me to have for under the highchair. This would be great as a table cover for kids crafts or as a mat for kids cooking (my 4 year old likes to "help" me in the kitchen with measuring wet and dry ingredients so I can see this mat being great to protect our hardwood!). Not only is the mat great, but the little smock bib is super cute and I can see where it will be really handy when my 6 month old starts feeding himself and the messes escalate! If you are on the fence, get off and buy this--you won't regret it!!!

Update:I know the item is currently out of stock, but I wanted to update this review. We have now had this for 3 kids. There'sprob only 1 or 2 stains out of all the times we've used this now. We tend to get compliments on having it. I've recommended this to a few people now when they see it because they want one for their kid. It's become a staple when our child is not eating at home, and it should be talked about a lot more to add to registries.Old Review:I've only got to use this a few times, but so far it seems to be pretty good. The cost could be cheaper. I was a little worried when some people said they only recieved part of it & the box only said it was the mat, but it had both in the 1 box. I searched for others prior to purchasing it & the others said they were a slipping hazard, tear easily, etc. This one seems like it will last quite awhile. People were giving us a hard time about our child throwing food on the floor while out and this has made those conversations seem to disappear. So it saves headaches & arguments, which to me makes it worth it. We also used it at a friends house who is OCD & he really appreciated us having it & thought even adults should have it. I haven't tried to wash it, but I don't think I'll have any issues with it & Ive used it for pizza & chinesse food so far. So while I wish it was cheaper, it seems to be worth the money. I would give it 5stars if it was cheaper.

I got this for my 1yrs to use when we went on a family trip to Florida. It is a great investment since my daughter loves to sit on the floor when she eats and she also likes to eat off the floor.This was great because she would dump her food on the floor and then pick it up to eat it which was unsanitary. So now that I have this floor mat she can dump her food and eat it without me having to worry about her putting dirty food off the floor in her mouth. It's makes the cleaning so much easier.Cleaning wise all I do is shake the food off and get a antibacterial wipe and wipe it down. Than once a week I would just toss it in the washing machine and than hang dry. It also came with a shirt bib but it was to small for my daughter so we didn't use it.( she is bulky for her age)All in all it is a great product, I would recommend you air it out and wipe it down before you use it. It does have a slight smell.

Edited: I didn't really like how easily it stained, but the fit and enclosure meant that it kept the clothes under way cleaner than any of the tie style. In the end this has become my absolute favorite bib. We use it every meal and then wash it out with dish soap right after. It stains really easily so it doesn't look pretty any more, but it really does its job well. At this point we like it so much we wish they sold the bib separately since we want another! I was really impressed with the customer service- they worked to make sure we were satisfied and loved our purchase.This review is mostly for the bib since we didn't end up using the splash mat as much as I expected. Wow... I really wanted to like this. I used the bib first with our little for pumpkin. After we were done and washed it out immediately after, it was stained everywhere. It didn't leak through so I guess that's good, but otherwise it didn't wash up at all. The mat and bib are made out of the same fabric, so I don't expect it to do any better. Returning the whole purchase.
