It is used to adjust the size of the hat's circumference, so that each hat can fit better with every different child. 2. Is it machine washable? Yes. We have tested it that there's no problem with washing in a machine, but please make sure to use cold water. 3. Will the hat too heavy? Not at all. Great Hat. Worth the Price.
Bought this hat because it has a drawstring that would likely help keep the hat on my kids head. Baby loves to take hats off her head and the ones with Velcro or ties just never stay on. My 15 month old can not take this hat off no matter how hard she tries!It is a good quality hat, durable, washes well and will last a long time because there is also a drawstring around the head circumference. It has a nice wide brim as well so does shade more than some. It is expensive but hopefully we will have it for a long time to come. Assuming it doesn’t get tossed out of the buggy by a fussy toddler at some point!

Perfect
Brought for my 7 week old baby as all hats have been too big but desperately need one to protect him in the sunshine. Seems to be a real lack of boys hats with proper sun protection.Fits brilliantly - the draw string on hat and under the chin mean it fits perfectly with growing room. Hat has a good brim all round for protection but he is still able to see out!So pleased I brought it...going to buy a second :-)

Perfect fit, perfectly made but just a little pricey
It’s really excellent quality hat, fits perfectly with an adjustable strap so will last as baby grows. Very god material and well made. However, it is a little bit overpriced but that’s Amazon for you. But hey, if you’re willing to spend the extra pennies go for it, the hat is lovely.

Gorgeous little hat with room to grow
This hat is gorgeous. It’s a nice light material, but still blocks the sun. Pretty colours. Drawstring tightens around head and under neck. Fit my 11-month old no problem.

Cute hat
It's such a cute hat for my little one. Has a string that tucks under the chin, you can make it long or short and can be removed from the clips on each side. Material is really soft and definitely helped my little one from sun burn

Great hat
Great hat. Material is breathable yet dirt resistant. The hat has plenty of growing room but the toggle on the back allows for the hat to be fitted well. The under chin strap is good. The brim is nice and wide so shades the sun from the whole face rather than just the forehead and eyes as with other hats.

I absolutely love this hat! Yes maybe it’s slightly expensive however it will last a very long time. The sizing is fab it actually fits my 7 year old son too!It covers the neck also. The front can flip up too. A great buy
