An essential tool for hypertrophy training
Versa Gripps are a game changer. I had tried some other types of straps but after having seen a lot of hype for VGs I decided to give them a try, and I was not disappointed! They're well made and do exactly what they were designed to do; help improve grip, maximize weight, and isolate muscles. The Pro versions are exceptionally grippy, have a nice little bump at the end of the pad to secure the hold, and have a little extra length, which I find beneficial even with smaller hands and wrists. Also love the colors, which might not seem important, but training is hard and a splash of color put a bright spot in the midst of pain. There are some people I've heard from say "I don't need straps because I want work on my grip strength". Those same people have eventually started using these and expirenced substantial improvements to their training. There are some misconceptions about these having a negative effect on grip training, however, they don't eliminate grip strength, they eliminate the limitations of grip. When you're doing a heavy set of barbell or dumbbell rows or stiffleg deadlifts trying to isolate your back and hamstrings, you don't want to burn up your total energy reserve trying to stabilize and hang on or unintentionally put more focus on supporting muscles. After training with these for several months, I've greatly increased my weight and training effectiveness and my natural grip strength has continued to improve (turns out grip has a lot to do with other muscles beside you hands). If you have a well rounded training split, you're going get plenty of work on general support and strength. One thing to note on this specific design over other straps or hooks, is that you can quickly and safely remove yourself from a bar or equipment when you need to. Some designs can actually carry some risk, such as with hooks, as you are not able to let go if need be.These are expensive, there's no getting around that, but when used properly the results more than justify the cost and they will last, plus they're made in the good ol' US of A. I know people using the same pair after many years. There is a bit of a break-in period and you may develop some calluses but they'll work in over time and during training you should be more focused on form. I don't know that I would ever strictly say VGs are "comfortable" but they are very functional without being distracting, and you do get used to them. To be fair though, I don't go to the gym to be comfortable... exercise is hard work and takes dedication. Maximize the work for the time you put in. Use Versa Gripps.

Essential for elbow/tendonitis pain
Essential for anyone with elbow/tendonitis pain. After getting my second cortisone shot from my orthopedist for medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow) a couple of months ago, I asked for a prescription for physical therapy and was lucky enough to land with a PT who lifts hardcore. His first recommendation: VersaGripps for all heavy pulling exercises. Best $90 I’ve ever spent. Are the knockoffs just as good? I have no idea. But I’ve tried lifting straps before and didn’t like them at all. Some people will tell you that taking grip strength out of the equation will hurt you in the long run. And that’s true — which is why you have to keep reading. My PT also gave me these exercises, which I’ve been doing religiously:2x/week (as always, start with challenging weight and progressively overload):3x10-15 Supinated grip forearm DB curls3x10–15 Pronated grip EZ bar curls3x35–60s Supinated grip DB isometric hold or pull-up bar isometric dead hangsAnd you can do the isometric exercises every day if you want. I try to do those 5x/week.And a forearm brace won’t hurt. I found the thin ones to be total garbage, but the thick ones really stay where you put them. Wear it when you lift and as often as you want.I’ve been pain free since April and I’m still doing weighted pull-ups and everything else that probably got me into this mess. But ask me again in another couple of months when the cortisone wears off…

Worth it
Great product. Saw Dr. Mike talking about them and wanted to try them out, as I have been dealing with tendonitis in my elbow, which only gets worse when I lift heavy. Very comfortable, can wear them for an entire workout without having to take them off. Seem to be holding up great, no tears or stitching coming loose, and I use them at least 3 days a week. Great with all pulling exercises.

Things just sort of...stick
Weights just kind of stick to you. You can simply walk by a dumbbell rack and the 40kg dumbbell will float into your palms and you'll be able to defy gravity.Seriously tho, they really help with grabbing the bar and making it so your grip doesn't fail halfway through the set. Sizing really matters so get the right size. They take sometimes for the foam to break in. Sweat, heat, usage will help the foam padding conform to your wrists over time. They start out a bit uncomfortable but it's worth putting up with it for a few weeks until they break in because of the improvement in grip.I don't know what they are made of but it's great

New gym staple
I previously thought these were just overhyped lifting straps. One day I saw a woman using them at the gym for deadlifts and asked her what she thought of them. She said they were amazing and offered to let me try hers. So I tried deadlifting with them and it felt like the bar was glued to my hands. Completely different sensation than using straps. I even put the bar down harder than usual to try and jostle my grip, but it didn’t budge. After buying them, I realized these are not just for when your grip fails; I now use these on every pull exercise. I started feeling lat pull downs in my lats like never before. My pull-up form dramatically improved. Bent over rows blow up my back instead of my forearms. I’ve set several PRs thanks to these. They do take a bit to break in, and until then they can be slightly uncomfortable around the wrist and difficult to get your hands around. Mine now have a slight curve in the grippy part so it’s very easy to use. Totally worth it, I’d recommend them to everyone.
