OXO Good Grips Simple Mandoline Slicer White

This one really works. Simple, sturdy, sharp. I tried a more expensive model that had removable parts and complicated adjustments but could never get it to work. Finally threw it in the trash and started searching for a better option. This is it!! I use it primarily for slicing potatoes. They come out even with no waste. I also used it to thinly slice carrots and it worked great. Also sliced zucchini and cucumbers. I should have known OXO would be the answer.Update: Just used it to slice leeks and potatoes for Potato Leek soup. Cut prep time by 75% or more.

Love it! So easy to use and easy to clean. Doesn't take up much room at all.Best purchase ever!!

I'd like to communicate how dangerous this appliance is if you aren't paying close attention and using the following safety precautions. First, invest in ahttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XC11FL8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image. Amazon sells this and since it comes with 2 gloves you can give on to a friend. Also, always use the food holder. I did not like the food holder that came with this mandolin. The teeth grips were not sharp or long enough to properly grip the food being sliced. I used one from my old, cheap, discarded mandolin that works much better. I also always store it in the lock position and cover the blade with the blue protective strip that came with it. I know two very experienced cooks who were badly wounded by mandolin blades.On another note, the julienne setting does not work well. It requires a very hard hand to push it through and then the vegetables still remained clumped. I suggest that you use a food processor But the slicer feature works great. And I gave 4 stars because slicing is what I use the mandolin for: potatoes and cabbage mostly.

I, maybe like you had used other mandolins. Great idea, but just never seemed to actually do what they said. This Mandolin ONLY does what you want. 4 EASY preset thicknesses, and also Julienne. Super easy to select, a well marked slider on the back is positioned to your setting, and poof it's done. A very well done item holder to safely keep your fingers out of the cut. It actually holds the food so you just zip it through the cutterhead. Safety feature of a dead zero blade exposure safety lock. Well made, easy to clean, and the holder stores well attached to the mandolin. Unless you want frustration, and so so quality, just buy this mandolin. I sure wish I had 7 Mandolins ago.

The description and video display an easy to operate perfect slicing tool. So I ordered one and looked forward to easy scalloped potatoes. The storage options were as they described but that is all. The first item I sliced using the food holder was a peeled medium sized onion. The post in the center pinched my skin and was locked on the skin between my thumb and forefinger. OUCH! But, I guessed it was my fault? The onion slices were perfect though. 2nd Item I peeled medium sized potato. After about 5 slices, the item ceased to work properly. The slicing blade popped up on one side, the rivet failed. I carefully worked to dislodge onion/potato meats from under the blade. Finally, I gave up. The item is not worth the time, money and effort in my experience. I own another mandoline slicer at work and at my home. Bought this one for our vacation home. Not worth the money or the time spent to order, receive and unbox.

I used this to slice zucchini in order to make zucchini lasagna. It was so easy, and worked fantastic. It is easy to adjust the thickness of the slices. It only comes with one blade, which is fine with me. I love how sturdy this is. It folds down and stores easily right on my counter, or in a cupboard. Absolutely recommend.

This mandoline is actually fun to use. With the food holder, my hands & fingers are safe because I don't have to come near the blade. It slices really fast, right down to the smallest piece. It washes in the dishwasher and stores neatly & compact. I highly recommend this mandoline!

Love this. I finally found something that works for slicing. I can use four different settings. Wish I had found it sooner.
