Are these rulers ok for measuring 8.5 squares also??

I wouldn’t use it for 8.5 squares. I would just get an 8.5 ruler. The markings on this ruler aren’t really to use for anything but flying geese, but it is wonderful for flying geese. I made a whole quilt with flying geese. All the Deb Heatherly rulers are phenomenal!

Does this ruler use the "make 4 at once" method?

Yes it does. It’s a wonderful tool.

What if you want to make a size that isn’t listed on the ruler?

The ruler is designed to make only finished block sizes listed on the ruler. They do make other rulers for Flying Geese.
