If you find the narrative a bit hard to follow, lucky you. I, however, could relate easily. It’s very raw, and real, and unnerving. I will forever love Charlie, this beautiful, sad, strange, broken, strong, resilient soul. Simply put: a girl.

The book, I believe, may not be suitable for every reader. It's quite lengthy, and if it were shorter, I might have rated it higher. The story in this book revolves around a girl who had a difficult childhood. At the age of 15-16, she found herself homeless, befriended people who indulged in drug use, and so on. Due to this lifestyle, she lost her best friend, Alice. As a result of the heavy blows of fate and dramatic events in her already tragic life, she started self-harming and eventually ended up in a rehabilitation center. While reading this book, I saw reflections of my own wounds and relived events from my life that were similar to those depicted. It made me realize how good things are for me now. The book ended on a positive note, just like my own story. I'll repeat once more that if it had been shorter, I would have given it 4.5 stars.
