Q: Do the dropped Nyjer seeds cause weeds when they drop into a garden bed below?

We haven't had an issue with weeds. Our feeder is not located in a garden. I think the finch and doves eat quite a bit of the seed that might fall on the ground.

Q: does the bag have an expiration date so that I can be sure the seed is fresh?

There is an expiration date on the 8lbs bag...look below the bar code on the back of the bag... Jan 2019. However, I could not find a expiration date on the 20lbs bag... may have been on the paper pull strip opening that I discarded?

Q: How do I keep the squirrels away?

I have not had any problems with squirrels eating this seed. I have 3 different feeders and squirrels NEVER approach them.
