While this isn’t marketed as a gaming monitor, the experience was surprisingly smooth for casual play. As expected, the built-in speakers won’t blow you away, but they’re serviceable. For better audio, I used a headset through the headphone jack, which worked perfectly.On the productivity side, the monitor handled my MacBook beautifully. Scaling—which Macs often struggle with—was crisp and clean. Colors looked vibrant, and text was sharp without any of the mushiness I’ve experienced on other monitors. Windows output was equally flawless. Switching between inputs was quick and nearly seamless.If I had to nitpick, the only drawback is the menu navigation. It uses a single toggle-and-click system that takes a minute to get used to. I bought this monitor as a second monitor for taking on trips. I work remotely and can be much more productive with a second monitor. I previously purchased another 4k portable display, but that one has been permanently mounted as a third display at my desk at home. This one is very solidly built, and comes with a very nice case, so I feel confident packing it around in my backpack with my laptop. The display is sharp and clear, and the color looks good to me. The sound from the display is much better than usual, and that is a nice bonus for a portable display. I tested it with my work laptop and also plugged into my iPhone and the results were excellent. I was able to watch a baseball game that I could only get on my phone, in 4k, while on vacation. It’s really the perfect size, bigger than my other portable display, but not too big to pack around. I’m very happy with the purchase and am tempted to use it at home as well, but I may need a bigger desk.
