Café-Quality Espresso Without the Hassle
I’ve been making espresso at home for years, and this machine has completely streamlined the process. The Baristina’s one-swipe system (grind, tamp, and brew) is a game-changer—no more juggling separate grinders, tampers, and portafilters. From whole beans to a perfect espresso shot in under a minute, it’s as close to “set it and forget it” as you can get while still having control over the end result. The 16-bar pump pressure delivers consistently rich crema, and the automatic grinder produces an even grind every time. I also love the compact footprint—it fits perfectly on my counter without feeling cramped. The natural white finish with the ash wood portafilter handle makes it as stylish as it is functional, so it looks great sitting out instead of being hidden in a cabinet.Cleanup is straightforward, and the machine feels solidly built. I’ve run a variety of beans through it—medium roast, dark roast, even a specialty blend—and every shot has been smooth and flavorful. If you want café-level espresso at home but don’t want to deal with a complicated setup, the Philips Baristina is worth every penny.

Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, A Decent Espresso Machine
It’s interesting to see some say the coffee tastes watery and no options for choosing different grinding size on this espresso machine. This espresso machine makes 3 types of coffee: Espresso, Double Shot and Lungo (about 6.5 Oz for a lungo).I think before you buy any espresso machine you need to know yourself if you are the snub type or used to be a barista or want to be a future professional barista to make all kinds of varieties of coffee from this machine then this machine is way too simple for you. This machine is best for using medium roast espresso beans. Once you get it set up, let it do the work. I always get a nice espresso with creama on top. I have a separate milk frother in a stainless steel jar so I froth the milk at the same time this espresso machine is brewing.I like the simple design of this machine. And I won’t spend a ton of money to get a fancier machine since all I want is a cup of espresso or double shot or lungo quickly in the morning. This machine is easy to clean and maintain and it makes a decent cup of coffee without me having to do some manual work to get it work.I still use my beloved stainless steel Moka pot sometimes. Never doubt the wisdom of generations of Italians since most families in Italy use Moka pot for their espresso. This machine helps me save time some days from watching it cook on the stove like a Moka pot does and I am not interested in spending lots of time choosing different grinding size or manually tamping the grounds everyday or taking time to wash gazillion parts of accessories like from some machines.

Would not dispense water and then leaked from underneath
I bought the combo Philips Barista Express & Milk Frather during Amazon's July Black Friday sale for my husbands 75th birthday in August. He loves his coffee and an expresso machine would make him happy. The return policy was 30 days and if I surprised him with it on his birthday, I would be over the 30 day return date. So I gave it to him early. He was excited and set it up. Not much to this machine, really easy which is why I bought the Barista. Well, beans were ground but no water would dispense. The water would then leak out of the bottom of the unit. We tried over and over, looked up You Tube videos, checked Philips website and nothing. So I was very glad that I gave it to him early. It was returned. Now I have to either buy it again at a higher price or go with another machine. This one just seemed so easy to use. Amazon did not give me an option to return with replacement.

Love it
I love this machine. Not only it looks beautiful on the countertop, it’s very easy to use and makes decent coffee. Some other people complain about the plastic taste but I think it’s just fine. We used to have another espresso machine which gave out lot of steam and high pitch sound. This one is quiet, no steam coming out, and very easy to clean. The coffee ground came out smoothly without having to scrap it out. Sometimes I make two coffee in the morning. So I can totally get my money worth in a short time. The whole process is automatic. I love it so much that I just ordered the milk frother which has good reviews too. Philips is a good brand. We have the air fryer for a few years now and it is still working well.

Perfect for espresso amateur
Great first time espresso machine for someone who doesn't want to buy pods. Super easy to use -- add water, beans, and push a few buttons for a good espresso. Compact and looks nice enough to keep on the counter. The frother is great. Perfect temp and works well with coconut, oat, or milk alternatives. Clean up is easy with the push button and a quick rinse. Only con could be the strength of the standard size. I press the "+" bean button for the a little extra flavor. Easily competes with the coffee shop and saves me a morning stop.

Decent coffee from beans with very little effort
Had this coffee machine for about two months. It works well with beans (specifically with extra beans - press button) if you use about 3.5 to 4oz water (need to program it). Also need to experiment with beans, some produce more crema. This way I really like it: extremely easy and fun to operate, quiet grinder, ready to use immediately, short brew time. Do not use ground coffee, it's very difficult to tamper it and it turns out weak with no crema. Beans does it
