Best built, nicest-looking watch for the money.
This is a great watch for the price. At $28, it is better looking and higher quality construction than most others in the price range or even in a much higher price range. I originally purchased it at Walmart about 18 month ago and like many of the reviewers have said, the band started cracking this week. A replacement band is $22 and since I have managed to scratch the face of the watch, for $6 more I just ordered a whole new watch. Kind of a shame, but the economics its work out that way. If I had paid the list price of $50+ for it originally, I still think it would be worth replacing the band and keeping it. I also want to point out that I typically replace a watch band at least once a year, so compared to other more expensive watches I have owned, the band that everyone is so critical of actually performed better than I normally see. I think the main gripe is really that you can't but a $8 generic replacement band for it and have to get the one specifically made for it. I personally have no complaints about the watch or the band, but if you plan to replace the band on this watch, just expect to pay a little more.About the watch itself: this is a great looking, extremely solid watch. I am very hard on watches and this one has stood up to a lot of abuse with a surprisingly low number of scratches to the face (see picture).I have to admit that the appearance was a big part of why I decided to get this watch. The band that everyone seems to hate is unique because it integrates with the rounded bezel for a very smooth, sleek look.If I completely honest, I have to admit that the smaller dials are too small to be real useful, especially if your vision is not great, but I like the appearance more than I care about the small dial functions. This watch had never given me any trouble. The battery is still going strong after a year and a half, and I have worn it in the shower and swimming without any moisture problems. This is hands-down the best watch I have ever owned I'm this price range, and even for several times the price of this one. You won't be disappointed with it.

Very good for the sale price.
Very decent for the price. Date was a bit of a pain to set, but seems to work well. Bought a new battery just in case as I did not know the date of manufacture. Advisable on these "deal" watches.

Good price, nice watch
I've had this watch for about a month and wear it daily to work. For the price point I feel it's well made. All hands function as they should. Time and day of the week are easy to read, but the smaller date hand can be hard to read at a glance. The band is comfortable to wear during long hours at work and it does not retain water as many link bands tend to do if you have to wash your hands frequently. The stainless steel case is attractive; a nice size for a man's watch--too soon to comment on durability but for around $30 you can't go wrong.Follow up:This watch served well while it lasted. After approx 2.5 years the band has broken. The watch still works fine but at this price point it's futile to pay $20 for a band and then likely a battery in the near future. I am going to try my luck with the Timex Men's T49772 Casual Diver Watch as a work watch in the clinical setting.

Swanky-Looking Casio
This watch looks expensive. The Casio Edifice series seems to be going for a more stylish, upscale look. I'd say this is the best bargain of the lot. It is not a chronograph (stopwatch), though it resembles one. The three subdials display day, date, and 24-hour time. They are all set using the crown. This watch is much more substantial than it appears in the photos. It is also larger than the stated measurements, as often seems to be the case at Amazon--you have to take the size data with a grain of salt. The actual case diameter is 40mm, excluding the crown. The band width is 22mm at the lug and tapers to 18mm. (The replacement band for this model is listed as 20mm. Go figure.) The reason the watch feels so substantial is that it is reinforced at the lugs to protect the spring pin. This is a vulnerable area of a watch, where the band is joined to the case. That's why you will see fixed lugs on many military watches, which eliminates the spring pin--a nylon strap is then wound over the lug and under the watch case. At any rate, this is a stylish, affordable, and very comfortable watch, thanks to the resin strap. One feature I haven't seen elsewhere is that the tip of the strap gently retains the keeper and prevents it from sliding off the end. This is a nice touch, and I hope that Casio will incorporate this feature on all their resin straps in future. This has quickly become my husband's favorite watch. I'd say Casio did a great job with this one, and Amazon's price makes it a terrific value.
