Very fast USB 4 External SSD!
-Impressive quality-Comes with USB 4 cable-Requires USB 4 40 Gb/s port which may utilize PCIe lanes-I'm getting about 1.9GB/s Sequential Read while 1.8GB/s Sequential Write in CrystalDiskMark-It's light, not too heavy-It transfers very large files so fast in like few minutes, regardless file size.

Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 means lightning fast, no noise, reliable and runs amazingly cool.
Lightning fast, runs cool and noiseless.I recently purchased an Orico R40 USB 4 SSD. That immediately started overheating, slowing way, way down. But here’s the kicker, the Orico drive started causing the Mac to reboot itself in the middle of the night, two nights in a row (which it has never done before) due to kernel panics caused by “SECURITY VIOLATIONS “ (and, yes, in all caps). The Orico drive is garbage though and through. Buy it if you don’t value your data. However, I returned mine on the third day. No problems since.SanDisk drives are more expensive, yes, but well worth it.

Great drive, hard to find a case to carry in
Great and fast drive. But is much bigger than the other Sandisk extreme models and cannot find a carry case for it.

Great choice for an fast external Mac SSD
Very compact and light. The price was good and it added considerable space to my 1 Tb Mac. I use it to store games and movies. There is a software for Mac that allows to check for firmware updates. Mine is current. Overall, happy with my purchase. The only thing that upset me was a noticeable sales tax that sneaked in the total price and all but wiped Amazon Prime days’ savings.

Fast with Mac Studio thunderbolt 5
Does not work with 2025 Mac studio on thunderbolt 5. It does connect and run on slower usb C ports on the front, but does not show up when plugged into the thunderbolt 5 ports. I went through all the recommended formatting, troubleshooting, using thunderbolt cables, but this does not work. Returning.Edit update: changed from 1 star to five. Customer support resolved the issue. After unplugging all ports, the drive now works, and it’s incredibly fast. The issue was with the M4 max, which requires a power supply for each monitor, so I had to plug my third monitor into a power supply. Unplug all Thunderbolt ports, especially ones that use power if this isn’t working with new Mac Studio. 3400 mb write read speeds are great, considering most SSDs are way under specs for real world testing.

Disk GREAT and listed case is too small - Found GOOD case
Disk is fantastic. USB3 Extreme Pro took about 1 hr & 15 min and this USB4 took ONLY 40 minutes. Make sure you have USB4. Case listed with disk is too small. Get other case for it. Get SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD WITH USB4,Tried several which were too small even though text said it would work for USB4. I finally got a case it would fit in.Lacdo Hard Carrying Case for SanDisk Extreme Pro with USB4 - Nice case and drive fits very well. Amazon has them

Fast, but hot drive!
Although it is fast, it generates a significant amount of heat even when idle. I connected it to the TB 4 port on my Mac Studio, and BlackMagic Speed displayed a consistent read and write speed of 3,100. This is quite impressive. However, the heat it produced prompted me to pause. After reading reviews on computer websites that mentioned the poor quality of the soldering and glue used to secure the components inside, I decided to return it.I did reach out to SanDisk and that was their recommendation.
