Edifier W830NB Review: A New Champion in All-Day Audio?
In a market saturated with wireless headphones all vying for a spot on your head, it takes something special to stand out, especially in the competitive mid-range. Edifier has consistently delivered impressive value, and their W830NB model aims to punch well above its weight class. Boasting a staggering 94-hour battery life which charges surprisingly fast, high-resolution LDAC sound, and powerful -45dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), these headphones look incredible on paper. But how do they hold up in the real world? After extensive testing, I can say they’re not just good; they’re a serious contender for one of the best all-rounders you can buy.Design, Build & Unbelievable ComfortStraight out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice about the W830NB is how incredibly light they are. At just 267 grams, they achieve a level of comfort that is genuinely rare. This is one of those few pairs of over-ear headphones that you can truly forget you’re wearing. The plush earpads create a soft, secure seal without excessive clamping force, making them perfect for all-day work sessions or long-haul flights.Despite the lightweight, feathery feel, the build quality is surprisingly sturdy. The construction is primarily high-quality plastic, but it feels robust and well-put-together. The headband is easy to adjust with a satisfying, smooth sliding mechanism that clicks securely into place, ensuring a perfect fit for any head size. They feel durable enough to be tossed in a backpack without worry, combining everyday practicality with that almost weightless comfort.Sound Quality: Detailed, Dynamic, and CustomizableThis is where the W830NB truly shines. The sound quality is nothing short of amazing for this price point. With support for the LDAC codec, Android users can stream Hi-Res Audio wirelessly, and the difference is palpable. The 40mm dynamic drivers deliver a sound that is rich, detailed, and well-balanced. Bass is punchy without being overpowering, mids are clear and present, and the highs are crisp without being harsh. Whether listening to intricate jazz, bass-heavy electronic music, or dialogue-focused podcasts, the audio is consistently impressive. The included Spatial Audio feature also adds a nice touch of immersion for movies and gaming. My one minor critique is on volume when connected to a PC. While mobile listening provides plenty of power, I found myself wishing for an extra notch or two of volume when hooked up to my desktop. It’s certainly not quiet, but for those who like to be fully immersed in a powerful audio experience on their computer, it could be a little louder. The Active Noise Cancellation is also highly effective, easily silencing the low-frequency drone of commuting or the hum of an office, allowing the excellent sound quality to take centre stage. The Edifier Connect App: Your Personal Sound StudioA huge part of the W830NB’s appeal is the excellent companion app, Edifier Connect. It’s clean, intuitive, and, most importantly, powerful. The app gives you full control over the ANC modes (High, Medium, Wind Reduction, and Ambient) and other settings. However, the star of the show is the customizable equalizer. While the headphones sound great out of the box, the app lets you easily fine-tune the audio to your exact preference. You can choose from a few presets or dive into the custom EQ to sculpt the sound to perfection. It’s incredibly easy to use and makes a significant difference, allowing you to create a truly personalized listening experience. The VerdictThe Edifier W830NB Wireless Headphones are an outstanding package and a phenomenal value. They deliver on almost every promise: the battery life is industry-leading, the comfort is so good you’ll forget they’re there, and the sound quality is detailed and vibrant. The sturdy, lightweight build and the easily adjustable headband make them a practical choice for daily use. While the volume on a PC could benefit from a slight boost, this is a minor point in an otherwise flawless performance. When you factor in the powerful and user-friendly app, the Edifier W830NB aren't just a good choice; they are a fantastic investment for anyone who values comfort, long-lasting battery, and high-quality, customizable sound.

Edifier W830NB headphones, comfortable fit.
I’ve been using the Edifier W830NB headphones for a while now. For anyone considering a pair of wireless, noise-cancelling headphones that strike the perfect balance of performance and value, these are definitely worth a look at.First, the standout feature is the impressive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). The -45 dB ANC capability, ideal for use on a plane, in a coffee shop, or commuting. I can finally enjoy music etc without background distractions. The sound quality itself is excellent too, with clear highs, rich mids, and deep bass that doesn’t feel overwhelming.Battery life is another area where these headphones shine. With up to 94 hours of playtime, depending on use, ie noise cancelling will reduce this, as expected. This makes them especially handy for long haul flights—no more stressing about finding a charging port! They’re also super comfortable. The over-ear design, combined with plush cushioning, makes these headphones easy to wear for hours on end without any discomfort, the fit is secure yet gentle.Portability is a bonus as well. Despite their over-ear design, they fold up compactly, so they’re easy to stow away in a carry-on or backpack. They’re durable yet lightweight, making them a solid choice for travel.Lastly, the price was incredibly competitive for what you’re getting. It’s rare to find headphones with this level of sound quality, ANC, and battery life without spending a small fortune. If you’re looking for premium features at a reasonable price point, I would highly recommend looking at the Edifier W830NB, headphones.

Decent and not just for the price
Let’s cut to the chase: these headphones are quite decent, and not just for the price. They offer a lovely, crisp sound, making for an enjoyable listening experience. No, they don’t possess the detail or punch of high-end headphones, but regardless of the set you choose, it ultimately comes down to personal taste. I found listening to rock, classical, and indie music very pleasing, and I noticed capturing little details I perhaps hadn’t before. I also use Airpods Pro 2 and purchased these as an over-ear alternative, as sometimes I prefer not to have in-ear headphones for extended periods, and I can confidently say these are an exceptionally comfortable set of headphones. The cushions are incredibly soft and feel fantastic. There are also a plethora of added features; the noise cancelling is effective, improved by an excellent seal around the ear, and the ambient sound mode works well for taking calls and staying aware of your surroundings (although there are better headphones in the transparency mode category). The wireless high-res sound performs admirably, although I haven’t yet tried this wired to compare. The overall appearance of the headphones is attractive, perhaps a little on the thick side, which gives them a chunky look, but I think the design is quite nice. Overall, I would give these headphones 4 stars, based on comparing them to ALL headphones, including the more expensive sets, so it’s high praise indeed. They offer good value for money, a pleasing sound, a multitude of great features, and a quality app, too.Just for reference, I purchased these with my own money for my own use and did not receive any donations or a free pair to test.

Good value for money
Love these headphones. Even with ANC off they reduce all the noises very well. And the battery last ages. Sound quality is very good as well. They also very comfy.
