The clip makes it easily portable, of course, though it can't stand on its own. The IP67 rating and rugged design make it suitable for outdoor usage; it has a very solid feel and nice heft to it.This paragraph is copied from the Go 4 review, as Bluetooth and buttons work the same on both devices, though the front button push of the Clip 5 feels crisper: Getting it connected takes less than a minute, though the optional app lets you customize the equalizer and see more information about it. I love that I can just turn it on and have the audio transfer over without any fuss. The buttons on top are also easy to distinguish, and the side buttons slightly divot in and will push in, so they're easy to distinguish in the dark too. Very thoughtful functions all around and solid build quality (I've already dropped it once on a hard floor without issue), especially at this price.Clip 5 vs Go 4: Though I already have the Go 4, I was leaning more heavily towards the Clip 5, and wanted to have one that'd stand on its own without needing a separate case or item for a stand. The Go 4 seems to start louder (had turned both down all the way first), though it can sound minorly more tinny with lower quality audio with lyrics. I'm guessing that some may not even notice the difference. For higher quality music or progressive/house, the difference isn't too noticeable, though the Clip 5 definitely has better bass (where you can feel it) due to its larger speaker and size.It's a shame Amazon, as the seller, hadn't had Sand in stock to match the Go 4 I already had, but the white look matching JBL's brand colors is very nice too and probably fits better in more formal environments.Onto Auracast: They were fun to pair together with minimal delay (whether via app or button push), though it's important to note that there's a minor bug in the app. If they're added to a party in the app, it doesn't seem like pressing Auracast on the device will remove it from the group. For stereo pairing, there needs to be two of the same device, which is pretty common for functionality like that.

The sound for the money is terrific. It has bass and treble that surprise you coming from this small package. The handle is like a carabiner and will easily clip on to things like your belt or backpack or whatever. Best of all is the software, "JBL Portable", lets you combine two or more of these together for ... well a party! Having a single point source for the sound is okay but let's face it, there is a reason for buying a stereo, or surround sound... The JBL Portable software has over 40,000 5 star reviews. It works great. You just download from the App Store and can easily tie several speakers together. So I bought two LOL! By the way, the speakers do not have to be the same model to work together.!

These things are awesome.Great battery life. Sturdy. Good price. Solid, bass-y sound that really can be surprisingly loud, more than I would have expected. Easy to link up, easy to use, it clips onto a shower curtain ring, a tree branch, a cabinet handle, anywhere.The only thing it isn't as great at is the sound quality of speech-only. It seems to struggle a little bit with higher pitches, while being strong on low and medium tones. This means sometimes for something like an audio book or podcast, you have to turn it up louder than you'd expect to get good voice clarity. I downloaded the app for adjusting the sound balance, and while it helps to switch it to "speech mode" it doesn't make a huge impact.I have only one other nitpick and I cannot say for sure if it is the fault of this speaker, or my phone. But when I have this linked to my phone, for some reason it will NOT play phone calls. So if you were hoping to answer a call and hear someone talking through the speaker, it won't. Or at least, not with my phone. Every other bluetooth speaker I have ever had does this.Don't let that deter you though. This is a great speaker and I bought a second one so that I could leave one at home and one in the car for all the times I found myself somewhere that I wanted a speaker.

I absolutely love this little speaker. The sound quality is excellent. I have three other JBL speakers, Flip 5 & 6 and a Charge 5. On a recent trip to the beach we meant to bring one of the Flip 5s which are just small enough for travel. When we realized we didn't have a speaker. I order the Clip 5 and had it delivered to the Airbnb. Amazon got it there overnight. It's the perfect speaker for the beach and has better sound than expected. I used a lanyard to hang it from the beach umbrella. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent sound quality. It is compact, light weight and easy to travel. The clip convenient to use which gives it a wider variety of places where it can be placed, especially if lacking a table top. Sturdy built and it gives a decent range, the waterproof feature makes it an excellent choice to go to the pool or beach. To avoid the sand I just clip it onto my back. Easy to use and it connects to the jbl app which is convenient. Quick charge and long battery life. It does shut off on it's own when not in use for a long period of time. I'm unsure if that was to save battery life or just a convenient function. It was a little annoying at first but it reconnects and pairs quickly so a minor inconvenience. I plan to buy another one to utilise the multiple speaker pairing option.
